Didn't Fernandes just sign a new contract? That took us out of the Frenandes equation then surely.

We dont need him.....
:mourfacepalm: Sorry, I meant to say Dembele and Felix are Low Risk, High Rewards. All the others including BF is a high risk for the money associatedNot sure I follow.... Isn't BF a risk; coming from a weak league and all that...
Big means £70m+ fees, which yes, we obviously won’t be spending.
That doesn’t mean we can’t sign good players, we just need to be bolder in signing young talents. We had opportunities to sign Maddison, De Jong, Grealish etc and let them slip away. We need to buy these players a year before their value skyrockets, not a year after.
Poch was seemingly very picky about signings and combined with Levy’s penny pinching it ended up a disaster the last two years. For Mou to succeed here him and Levy have to make more forceful decisions on transfers when younger talents emerge. If we think they have the quality then buy them ASAP before someone else does. Just think where we could have been if we’d signed Maddison or Grealish a year ago...
The way I remember Ajax were okay with the fee. But De Jong decided to stay put because he knew that Barca was interested.I agree with your broader point, but we tried to sign both De Jong (Ajax didn't want to sell) & Grealish (40m pricetag was banter.... Still is IMO)... The latter wouldn't have elevated us either.
They changed président. This one IS less crazier then the other. From what I remember it was always Sporting demanding 70 mil up front with us offering 45 base + bonuses that would take it up to 60.
The Sporting president is also not the most trustworthy of characters. Nabil Bentaleb can probably tell us more about how he is looked at in Portugal but wasn't it rumored that he let the ultras into the training ground to beat up his players?
Any reports on this old chap?Apparently we are returning to re-discuss either tomorrow or Monday. He is due to play on Sunday against Benfica so if he doesn't that may be an indication discussions are going well.
Weird one.
Haven't seen as much of Bruno as I have of Lo Celso, but they seem to fulfil the same role in a team...but do it very differently?
The way Lo Celso simply touches the ball just screams "baller". He's probably not going to be in double figures assists/ goals every year and he can't really use his right foot; much like the Silva's at City...who I'd say he's reasonably comparable with. The way he moves and manipulates the ball is just very special.
Bruno is not as graceful, probably not as press resistent and doesn't feel the football in that magical way. However, he seems more direct and decisive in the final third and has the added bonus of being pretty both footed. More KBD?!?
I don't think we're holding onto Eriksen, I think we're struggling to sell him.
