The bottom line is that we need a striker and we're not exactly overwhelmed with options. I would prefer something better than a 33 year old has-been who could be just as injury-prone as Harry Kane but there isn't anyone else so we just have to sign him and hope for the best.

Experienced Premier League player.
Target man.
Good in the air.
Likes to get one over on Woolwich.

Id take him to be honest.

Exactly. Not sure where the giroud hate comes from..he was a total menace every time he played against us.
If it is just because he is an ex Woolwich player, thats just petty

He has scored 5 goals in his last 45 games.
If he comes to us he would play 8 games at the most before Kane is back, then we would probably be stuck with a 33 year old reserve who doesn't score for the next 2 years.

noone expects us to sign anyone who can challenge kane..atleast not in this window..

in those 2 years he can easily be the impact sub coming off the bench at the 70th minute with the wingers start pumping crosses into the box and he makes a few of those count. currently we have nothing if Mourinho wants to switch the style of play if plan A isn't working..

I fully expect us to sign a top class striker in the summer..Giroud is just going to be the option off the bench and not a bad one at all

Last 45 appearances.
You talk like he's played 45 x 90 minutes when it's more likely 45 x 10 minutes here and 20 minutes there.
He also isn't being looked at as a 20 goal a season player, he's being looked at as a stormy 6f 4" ball magnet to hold the ball in the opposition box until support arrives. There's probably not stats on that.

If he only plays 10 minutes that is because Conte, Sarri and now Lampard all decided he is not worth more than that.
