It was ok Poch subing him even though I'd have made a different change. I think though Son is the kind of player who in those circumstances will take it personally and feel ashamed by it. You could see he was upset. So I hope Poch gives him some reassurance.
Its always a little embarassing when a sub is subbed. Probably why he was upset. If he had started, maybe it wouldnt have affected him as much.

Edit: just saw someone else mention something similar..

Yes, that is absolutely what it is about. But normally a sub is subbed because they come on and play so bad that the manager hooks them off. In this case though, I don't think that was why, it was just a tactical thing because of the way the game had progressed.

Son did his job he was abruptly called in for, made the team go, in on both goals etc. He was probably pissed off for the sub because he felt like there was a goal coming for him too. I’ve seen stranger Subbing of Son by Poch many times before. This one seems rather solid compared to them and if you can look past the stigma of a player subbed in then out on the same game, no big deal. I would think the possibility of Son getting injured at this juncture would freak Poch out.

I think Sonny not getting cxalled from Korea over this international break is official. Finally seeing some common sense there for a change.

I think Poch made the point that (due to Dembeles 1st minute injury) Sonny DID pretty much start the match, and HAD he been selected to do so... woulda been subbed on or around the hour mark ANYWAY (seeing as he played/ featured in the previous matches)

The ONLY sticking point to this is he wasn't named in the STARTING XI!
I genuinely don't see where the fuss is coming fro.... oh yes, the MEDIA!:sonhmm:

Hasn't it already long been established that Sonny, due to not finishing high school, would not have had to serve in the military, but instead in a civil capacity? Why do so many keep talking about him avoiding military service? :sonhmm:

Because we still would have lost him for the same length of time.
He still would of been called up for military service and then transferred to a civil post.

I think we agreed to this when letting him go for the asian games, not common sense but good negotiations.

Yes good negotiation, I think I remember it too. It is a total twilight zone though when it comes to the Korean football association and anything they do. I had to believe only when I saw it. At any rate, I was glad to see Sonny off their official list for this run.

Because he doesnt qualify to play football anywhere professionally for 2 years, which is basically the end of his career. He could've played in K-league in the army team if he played in K-league for at least 1 yr + qualifies to serve in the army, but he doesnt meet either of these requirements.

I'd sell him and get us a proper central midfielder. He hasn't looked happy at all in recent times. Just look at him grimacing when Lucas or Lamela got themselves a goal during the weekend.

He gets subbed out way too much (even when he is on fire). When he scored 2 goals Poch benched him the next game. Dembele got injured and he got came in(was playing fairly well) then only to get subbed out again in the same freaking game. (it was 3-0 and became 3-2 after he left)

I always said Lamela has an Argentine connection with Poch. Lamela was shite for over 4 years and he is still in the club getting minutes. While a guy worked hard gives his best and still doesn't get the cache from the manager.

I’m guessing you’re Korean?

Subbed in = came on
Subbed out = subbed
