A Meh cup for a team that won fuck all in 17 years? Why don't you tell that to the thousands of genuine Spurs fans who turned up on the high street to celebrate it afterwards!
Oh and Edit!
I'd rather be bantered for 18 years without a cup, than 1 year and then relegated.
It was realistic from about Dec 2023.But that is the issue - that wasn't a realistic issue last season.
I think it would have been correct to sack him in Jan 2025, bring in some able bodies, get a respectable top half finish (aim for, at least)
However, with the bottom 3 being so shite, I don't think it was a bad call necessarily (considering the outcome) to leave it to see if we could win a cup and get CL football that way.
I think parting company was absolutely correct either way. Nothing was being built in terms of league football and we're seeing a lot of symptoms emanating from the rot now.
Obviously hindsight is 20/20, but I think the biggest issue has not necessarily been hiring Frank, but from hiding from correcting that.
When Levy was forced out, we were 4th in the table with 2 wins out of 3.
By 4th October, one month later, we'd lost only one game and were 3rd, 2 points from the top.

Since that point until the end of the year, we had 11 points from 11 games. Chances are, people on here and in the media would have had a moan if we'd have sacked him, but Levy wouldn't have really cared about that (he never did). The key thing would have been Frank's media facing comments tbh, rather than just league form.
The real problems have pretty much started and existed in that period. A shambolic approach to PR in general, the transfer window, and everything management since.
As far as I'm aware we came 17th last season and was never really in any real danger of going down...... If we go down this season Ange is not the reason why, its replacing him with someone even worse and then persisting to stick with it for to long and not signing anyone in January.
Did anyone ask him why our players didn't have the right boots?
It was realistic from about Dec 2023.
MANY of us said we were showing worrying signs of relegation form as early as then.
I would love some updates on how training is going this morning. And the attitude towards him. Also kinsky saying morning to him![]()
Imagine the confusion in the Ange derangement syndrome ranks if he came back and repeated the first 10 games of season 1As far as I'm aware we came 17th last season and was never really in any real danger of going down...... If we go down this season Ange is not the reason why, its replacing him with someone even worse and then persisting to stick with it for to long and not signing anyone in January.
The Alternative I guess is we finished mid table last season won, fuck all and Frank comes in and we are still here now, so I will take the little wins where I can.
You honestly can't see this where we are now is simply a continuation of where we were as early as 2024?As far as I'm aware we came 17th last season and was never really in any real danger of going down...... The only manager Levy ever got rid of that fast was Nuno, which was only because the long-gestating deal with Conte had come to fruition. The problem for me is that, in any normal season, Frank probably would have gone by the end of December

But at that time the media and everyone was talking about injuries, so there was absolutely no way it would be seen as the right decision. You think the 'Ange is god' stuff is bad now - I wouldnt want to live in that alternative timeline
Why wasn’t Ange season 1 a continuation of the Stellini and Mason situation? You honestly can't see this where we are now is simply a continuation of where we were as early as 2024?
The only difference now to last season is the teams around us are actually better than they were.
The only game we won in the last 1/3 of last season was Southamton.
We weren't better. Teams around us were just worse.

I'll grant you it's POSSIBLE that Levy sacks Frank earlier, but it's also possible he doesn't, and there's no more than a handful of games in it either way.
Mistiming the Frank sacking is a drop in the ocean of the pathetic state of the club.

But Stellini and Mason was a disasterI think Ranieri benefitted a lot from Pearson's work in the season before, and Conte season 1 benefitted a lot from Mourinho/Mason.
There's always some carry-over
