Rumour also has it that he was lightly approached by Real Madrid (whatever the hell that means)
"lightly approached" lol. Sounds like G-rated heavy petting.

Allegri is the standout candidate, but he's been out of management for nearly 2 years.

He also speaks fairly good English.

I have no desire for Allegri, he is a good, maybe even better than that, manager but don't see the fit for us overall and especially where we currently are.

Maybe he does want a total rebuild and is fine with looking at us as a 5 year project, but I doubt it and think he will want to take short cuts and we will see many of the same problems we did under Jose, where short cuts mean we rely on shit players rather than building properly.

I think he could maintain our mediocrity but I don't see us ever being great under him.

Today again highlights how badly we need a manager who can develop attacking patterns. We have some decent players, but they don't have a clue what to do with the ball right now.

The part of Allegri's record I look at is less Juve and more him winning Serie A with an odd and seemingly expired set of parts at Milan.

I agree, he's not the guy to undertake some comprehensive restructuring of the squad. But is anybody?

If that "project" isn't lavishly funded, it's as likely to end in the Championship as it is in success.

I would say there is a zero percent chance we end up in the Championship.

A rebuild doesn't mean bring in all crap players, it just means that we aren't signing 30 year old players to try and paper over cracks for a season.

I would say that looking at Leicester the past 3 seasons would be a good example:

2018-19- Maddison, Soyencu, Perriera
2019-20- Tielsman, Justin
2020-21- Castagne, Fofana

Sure they got lucky that a lot of those guys worked great, but they were able to bring in a lot of quality, young talent while keeping some of the older core of the team- Vardy, Schmichel, Morgan, Albrighton. They were 9th, 5th, currently top 4. For me I think this could be our equivalent of their 9th place season.

Why is that? Genuine question i don't know enough about him to be fair
He was the last manager to win the Serie A with AC Milan before Juve’s dominance, than he went on to win 5 league titles with Juve,
win multiple Coppa Italias, and get to two champions league finals. There are parallels with Mourinhou in play style and pedigree but unlike Jose, Allegri is rather flexible in his setup and is a proven problem solver. Wouldn’t mind him but I prefer Ten Haag or Sarri.

He'd be a truly awful appointment. He's an old school Serie A manager that's spent his entire career there. If Nagelsmann is unobtainable then we should be brave and go for Potter. He guarantees attacking fast paced football and he could turn out to be an inspired choice.

I think so too. And we will end up with Rodgers, Potter, or Parker.

We won’t get Rodgers. Why would he come here? He’s doing better there. Seeing how this group of softies perform plus Kane and Son leaving, it would be tough to convince any decent managers to come here. Potter, Howe, Parker, Hassenhutl, Nuno Will all see this club as a step up but the rest of the decent managers will see this as a step down.
