Jose would never waste money on a crap CB like Sanchez

Something the silly folk must consider:

You are on a budget and need to strengthen.

You can go for guaranteed successful buys or potentially successful buys or punts.

The guaranteed successful buys cost too much.

You need more players. Something is better than nothing at all.

What do you do?

You buy potentially successful buys or punts!

Many worked out. Some worked out exceptionally well.

Stop this lame argument that makes chequebook managers with bottomless pits of cash look like genius scouts who make shrewd purchases.

Poch earned the right to rebuild and he got shafted instead.
and when your expensive buys repeatedly dont work out?

Checkbook managers are not geniuses and they dont need to be. Pep has been spending recklessly at City since he arrived. If you dont have that kind of budget, then dont spend like them. City can afford to gamble £42m on Mangala, we cant afford to gamble same on Sanchez. Poch did it repeatedly.

There is an argument for Poch earning the right to rebuild giving his results but one can also argue that he had not been very successful with recent 'big' signings. I think the lack of even a domestic cup is what really weakened his position. Getting to a CL finals is not as memorable as celebrating even a LC

Ndombele: Most expensive. Absolute baller. Only thing currently to stop Spurs fans from depression.
Lo Celso: Good player. Showed what he's capable of last season. Needs to get fit. Jose liked enough to make the loan permanent.
Sissoko: Shafted on fee on deadline day due to fucking around with fees and wages on other players. Still played huge part in top 4 and CL final. Used frequently by Jose.
Lucas: Fired us into CL final. Player Jose said he wanted to sign himself!
Sanchez: Okay we overpaid. He was more than competent under Poch though and has heavily regressed under Jose.

Then consider Alderweireld, Wanyama, Son....

Sanchez was still a shocking buy and cost them a fortune in wages. There are many others at his time at United. He spent a fortune but badly. It happens though. For us so far its mixed, Hojbjerg and Reggie have improved us, jury out on Rodon and Bergwijn but hopefully they'll come good. The other 5 have been a waste of time.
Bergwijn is better than Moura and GLC has been good.

I dont care for loan players

I can accept giving Mourinho the whole season. I'm not looking forward to watching the games anymore buy I still do. Kicking him out now will probably not lead to a well analyzed decision of the successor. We could always bring in an old coach without a job to get the season over with. Like Lars Lagerbäck (Sweden, Island)

Who do I want as the next coach? I'm really not sure.

Gladbach plays pretty good football. So Rose is one. But I'm hearing best taking over Dortmund next season (I think it was).

Atalanta plays really attractive football with a coach that makes the team punch above the players weight. So Gasperini would be interesting.

Ten Haag plays very attractive football.

Graham Potter plays really attractive football, but has problems with the last third. I wonder what he could do with a team with world class finishers like Kane and Son. Also he beat Woolwich at the library with little Östersund från the middle of nowhere North Sweden.

Marsch, the American that coaches Salzburg also pays attractive football. I don't know enough about him.

Who do I want? I don't know. Someone who makes me want to watch Spurs games and not dread them.

It is not about the manager but the club you are managing.

Currently, Poch can afford to do so at PSG, while Mourinho cannot. The difference is what PSG can afford that we cannot. If Mourinho would be stupid if he doesnt realize that.
We’re not West Brom, we’re in top 10 richest clubs in world football at the moment if I’m not mistaken. We were in top 20 before the new stadium. The money we spent wasn’t a fortune like you make it to be, clubs like Leeds or Sheff Utd have tossed 20-30m on players recently.

The likes of Toby, Dele, Son etc, were very good buys but were made in earlier seasons.

Over two summers we bought Wanyama, Janssen, Velasco, Nkoudou, Sissoko, Tainio, Sánchez, Gazzaniga, Foyth, Aurier, Llorente, and Lucas. We spent £180m total with £120m on Sissoko, Sanchez, Aurier and Lucas. We simply cant afford that

Wanyama was incredible when fit, son... You’re clearly clueless, I suggest you to stop before you make yourself look more like a clown.

Levy and his crew might get paid like we are rich but we definitely dont spend on transfer like that and most of our top players dont get paid that. That is the reality.

Ndombele is our current record signing at £55m. Before then it was Sissoko at £30m and then Sanchez at £42m. Those two are not the type of players you make record signings at any club.
