Management In search of Mourinho's successor.

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Something the silly folk must consider:

You are on a budget and need to strengthen.

You can go for guaranteed successful buys or potentially successful buys or punts.

The guaranteed successful buys cost too much.

You need more players. Something is better than nothing at all.

What do you do?

You buy potentially successful buys or punts!

Many worked out. Some worked out exceptionally well.

Stop this lame argument that makes chequebook managers with bottomless pits of cash look like genius scouts who make shrewd purchases.

Poch earned the right to rebuild and he got shafted instead.
Poch should have been well aware of the transfer budget of the club and shopped accordingly.

Sissoko was 27 and had played 3 seasons in the PL before we bought him. There was liitle uncertainty about what we would be getting. Wijnaldum was a year younger but we passed on him.

This is what WIjnaldum said: "I met Pochettino when I left Newcastle. I just felt Liverpool wanted to come to an agreement quickly."

So why did we pass on £25m Wijnaldum but paid £30m for Sissoko (both sold by Newcastle in the same summer).

But wait, the following year, we spent a record £42m on Sanchez and gave £50m to PSG for Aurier and Moura. You dont spend a record £42m on an unproven CB from Eredivisie and the PSG duo were not unknown quantities.

We needed a rebuild cos Poch bought these players for much more than they were worth. If even two of those players had been starter quality, the squad quality wouldnt have been as bad as it became.

But Levy is guilty of shafting Poch by not trusting him with a rebuild of squad that Poch mismanaged? There is enough blame to go around for our bad transfers and Poch deserves his share. He was not a victim but was part of the problem.

See my long ass post in the Levy thread.

Rodgers as I’ve said would be ideal. Knows the league, has good experience, coaches his teams to play passing football, spots decent players often not them at expensive and will give youngsters a chance. Also he will develop pattens of play so that team know what they are doing and most importantly the whole structure of the club will geared that way. So players will be able to fit in and out of the team and know their roles. If not him then any of the modern forward thinking managers who try to play attacking football. Personally we should have got Rodgers in 2012 after Harry but boldy thought he’d get one over Chelsea and their reject AVB. The most deflating appointment. To compound it the FA have won the england job when Harry would have been ideal.

Rogers is probably the wiser choice but Nagglesman I love the football and the tactics he plays how I want Spurs to play.

This post epitomizes all that's wrong with our fan base and why we probably deserve everything we're getting right now.
We refuse to acknowledge what our previous manager achieved and throw all the shit at him rather than the owners who tied his hands for 18 months and gave him a 5 year net spend budget less than Huddersfield and Crystal Palace.

Poch wanted what's best for our football team, Levy wanted what's best for our profit margin and we throw all our weight behind the latter!!!!

The idolatry afforded to this non football liking hard nosed businessman who recently made the Forbes rich list off the back of OUR football club and Pocchetinos heroics is nothing shy of nauseating.

Nagelsmann for me or poch back. Not interested in hassenhutl. 9 nil twice no thanks. After thursday nights joke display jose has to go. Bored of his football and snide wise crack remarks in press. When hes sacked he will turn on us as well.

Is it just me who isn't part of the Hasenhuttl group wank?

I'm thinking back to when we demolished them at their place, where his lack of tactical nous let us score basically the same goal five times over. Imagine the scenes on here if he did that with us against a big rival.

Oh and, it's a bit ironic that some who pilloried Pochettino for not having won anything are the same that are now bigging up a manager who has.. errrr... won nothing.
Yeah that 5-2 demolition put me off having him.

I can see that. He will say the club failed to back him properly, he didn’t get all of his players and the mentality of the club/fans is weak.

When jose is sacked the lockdown and jose being in charge during this pandemic will all be a bad dream. When fans allowed back in new manager hopefully nagelsmann and new bright future. Jose was lucky fans werent allowed in stadium Thursday as would have been very toxic. Hes had enough chances now. Time is up.

Nagelsmann is destined for bigger job than spurs ( bayern , united for example ) let's stop dreaming.
