I'm actually quite pleased that Madders won't be with England this summer. It means he can have a proper rest and a decent pre-season. Now all we need to do is persuade every other Spurs player to withdraw from International duty too. I just cannot get excited about international football. It's shit, get rid of it.
 
Maddison has got nobody to blame but himself. I said in the season he wouldn't make the squad because his performances were terrible and we have an abundance of talent in that position. Add the emergence of Palmer,mainoo etc and there just isn't a place in the squad for an out of form 10. He could of 100% made this squad and after the start of the season he was nailed on to go. The majority of his performances after his injury were mediocre at best. Needs to look in the mirror before getting pissed off with anybody else that he hasn't made it.
 
I was surprised he got a call up to the initial squad tbh.

Despite being class at the start of the season, he was poor for the most part since his return from injury and mentally, there was something up with him. Such a moody little cunt at times which in itself isn't bad, but by the sound of it he just did not stop fucking moaning.

Hope he A) gets fit over the summer and B) uses the fuel of getting rejected by Southgate to push on and prove the twat wrong next season. Hope he's able to sort out the attitude as well, no one likes a moaner. Well... You know.

Hopefully waistcoat has fully pissed him off as well and he starts next season with a vengeance
 
As others have said, he could've played amazingly all season and still not gotten in. The fact is that players like Grealish still struggle to get in. What most of us see as players that add something else, Goofy sees as a liability. Would've been a good option from the bench over some other players that are too similar to our more experienced options that will start 95% of the time anyway.

Give it a rest.

He's included Eze, Foden, Gordon, Palmer, Saka, Grealish, Bowen, Bellingham, as well as 3 strikers in the preliminary squad.

Maddison was playing absolute turbo shit for nearly half a season. We have numerous attacking player so some obviously there were going to be cuts (and every player I've stated bar Toney is/was in better form than him).
 
Player who didn’t deserve to get in to squad didn’t get in to squad, news at ten. He doesn’t offer anything others who had better seasons offer.
 
He was really unlucky with his injury when both he and the team were flying. But he's had more than enough time since to find some form, and he just hasn't, so only has himself to blame for missing out.
 
In all honesty, his form hadn't been great for us since coming back from injury. But to have players like mainoo, Palmer etc to come in because of a break out season, I personally is not a fan of it. They have to take more effort to earn it. And experience counts in international tournaments. It's ridiculous even, if they were not in the mainstay of U21 before this. If I'm Madders, I'll feel shit as hell. And he did mention he played a part in the campaign qualifying for this. Then Palmer and mainoo got on the plane just like that. Ffs.

Mainoo doesn't play in his position and Palmer more than deserves a place. It's not like this was the first season where he's showed his talent. He scored in two finals for Man City prior to his move.
