I have a feeling without Romero or Son next season, we'd probably be best situated to turn captaincy over to Maddison or Solanke. Maddison at least has had the guts to speak up about Ange, even if only in cryptic fashion.

Sonny is extended (I'm rather critical of Sonny check the threads) but he has pillow foot - we need to refocus I agree to not just Sonny - we agree.
Maddison (back on topic) is a creative player or can be, Maddison should pull his socks up (again i criticise him but) I think Maddison & our striker need to learn that relationship like Sonny & Kane had...Maddison needs to look forward & with the right coaching he ould be a Spurs legend! that or fukks off & is forgotten.

Yes, certainly closer to it than the other 2 mentioned.
The problem is, you watch the difference between Palmer and Maddison and you see why Maddison doesn't really create enough. Hes always way too deep, which considering we have 2 fullbacks inverting into midfield too just creates so many problems. Palmer stays high, drifts around into spaces and is constantly in and around the box, regularly being the creative focal point on attacks... where you want him, in the final third. We end up with 2 fullbacks attacking the box which just arent where you want them because they arent creative intricate players... they're fullbacks for a reason not 10s.
Shoehorning this guy into a two way midfielder that barely gets involved in the final third is one of the dumbest things Ange has ever tried. And it's quite a list as we know.
A simple 4-2-3-1 / 4-4-1-1 where he is allowed to be further up the pitch in a free role is the best use of this guy. Not this 4-3-3 crap where he's forced to spend most of his time around the halfway line in midfield battles.
That being said, looting a relegated team will lend you serviceable players at best. He'll be 29 this November, he is who he is at this point.

He's not good enough to build a side around and fear we are stuck with him for the duration of his contract.
