What's more piss about this injury was he wasn't even involved in some heavy clatter or impact, not like someone was sent off from his tackle on him whatsoever to even out some advantage. Totally an unlucky freak injury to have.

I'll be brutally honest here. I don't think this is as big a blow and everyone is making out. We have max two big games left this season, and you could argue we might be tactically better set up with more legs in midfield (Sarr or Kulusevski) for both games.
Yes, losing Maddison's creativity is a massive loss. But away in Norway we might be better suited to having a more energetic box to box midfielder like Sarr playing instead as we need to be hard to break down. He's definitely a loss in the final but if Kulusevski was to rediscover his form then he's a better match for that game. I think Ange would have been tempted to play kulusevski with maddison in midfield which might have been overly naive in a final. At least now he can only play one of them and it forces him to be more pragmatic.
Its obviously a blow and I'd love Maddison to be starting the final if we get there. Especially if Kulusevski does not get back to form by then. But I don't think its a complete gamechanger or should be the difference between us winning or losing the Europa league.

I think it'll be Bents, Biss and Kulu for our remaining Europa matches, so I'm not sure we'll get those "legs in midfield" anyway
An in form Kulusevski provides a lot more energy and covers more ground than Maddison.
If he rediscovers form then I don't think this is an issue. If he doesn't then we will badly miss Maddison in the final.
Our MF 3 now is Biss, Benta, Deki and that means we are 4-2-3-1 and tbh I think we looked more solid in our press using 4-2-3-1 vs Bodo in the first leg and the whole set up is well-suited to Europa League and SF/Fs.
I'm glad that response wasn't directed at me, because I've always liked Maddison. Could never understand any negativity towards the guy.
I always felt the same about Hojbjerg and, going back a bit further, Trippier, to name but two. There are people on TFC who are way too quick to slag off many of our players.

Exactly. The injuries to Maddison and Bergval has basically forced Ange to play a more pragmatic formation with just one 10 and that now being Kulusevski. There is even a small chance he starts Sarr over Kulusevski tomorrow night which would make us even more pragmatic
He might cover more ground but he does stupid running compared to madders. Madders timing of runs into the box or in behind are brilliant and he’s scored some cracking goals because of it. Deki does not give us that. He’s a plodder,cant turn in tight spaces and get away from someone and hasn’t got that execution in his passes. Madders is a massive miss for us.
Very harsh to describe Kulusevski as a plodder. He's been poor since his injury but on form he is every bit as good as Maddison and offers much more off the ball.

And it's probably a great game for him to pick up some rhythm and conditioning. I think he will probably score.
Hope so! I think Kulusevski is now our most important player. We have nobody else available who can play that role.
If we are going to win the Europa League then we need Kulusevski to rediscover his pre Christmas form. He has been poor the past few weeks
A plodder as in no change of pace. He’s not smooth and is always trying to shrug people off because he doesn’t have that burst to get away from players. I like Deki but he’s been miles off it for months now and never got his sharpness back since his injury. Hopefully he steps up because we can’t rely on Bentancur,Biss or Sarr to create anything. With Johnson starting too that’s even less creativity in the team.
And I saw the appearance of a rainbow at the Finale as a good sign for the future.
And yes, we are cursed, the things that have happened to us can't be explained as just bad luck!
The dilemma for Postecoglou, if we beat Bodo tomorrow, is, should he rest Kulusevski for the final, or try and play him into form in the remaining PL fixtures and risk injury?

The midfielder was forced off with a knee problem midway through the second half of our Europa League first leg win over Bodo/Glimt last week.
Scorer of our second goal in that game, Madders was sent for a scan after the win over the Norwegian side to assess the extent of the injury but it has now been confirmed by our Head Coach that the problem is significant enough to keep him out of action for the rest of the season.
"Unfortunately Madders last week hurt his knee and it looks like he's got an issue there," Ange explained. "That'll keep him out for the rest of the season which is disappointing... disappointing for him, more than anything because he's been important for us, particularly this latter part of the year and particularly in Europe - he's been a catalyst for a lot of our good stuff.
"It's really disappointing for him but it has been a constant of our season to deal with things like this and it's just another one we need to overcome."
Play him into form
Eh we SHOULD be ok in the 2nd leg but I think a massive loss for the final. Definitely our player of most quality and one of the few players who can get a result out of nothing.
