Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but I didn't think he was too poor today- played a great through ball which was probably our best creative pass of the match.

He wasn't. Used the ball well in the main when he had it, good strike off his left peg too.
This is why I wanted Eze. He needs competition. Bergvall looks like he might do that any way but it's not fair on him to ask him to be a full starter yet. Maddison has to be pushed or move aside.

Tbf if Eze is coming there will be no competition, Maddison will be relegated to a squad role and Eze will start. Would be great though.
I feel when he first signed for us, he was working so hard to get on the fans' side and to prove to us that he can be trusted and will be a vital cog.
But I'm not sure has he been reading the negativity and outrage of the fans since his returned from injury, because I feel more trolling from him now. Probably banter would be a friendlier word, as he's getting more comfortable in our environment. But just wish he doesn't stop raising his level and thinking that's that.
Southgate is gone, he still has a chance to get back into the national squad. Hope that can be his motivation too.
Those first ten games he was leading the press too at times. Maybe last season when he came back he was still feeling the injury and so struggled to do it as much (as the last few games he was getting better at it) but during preseason he looked to be off the boil again. It’s a shame we can’t get Eze because I think he needs pushing. Maybe Bergvahl will be the man to do it instead because he looks sharp.

Maddison is a veteran player though, he knows pre-season is about fitness and a bit of rhythm but the prem is a totally different speed. Really not much point trying to decipher anything from his pre-season other than he's finally back to full fitness.
Leicester is probably the best or worst game for him to get up and running again. Either he will be so comfortable and confident in a stadium he knows inside out or he will be a little bit emotional and refrained. The former is by far the most likely. I know I'm a biased Spurs fan but tbh I'm expecting Maddison to be a real handful tonight.
