    Get involved!

Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We’ll find out on Saturday if he’s ready if he’s on the bench or whether our PR team are just thick.

With such a serious injury you’d hope the medical wouldn’t rush him back unless he is ready. If he’s not 100% a hard tackle could finish his career.
yeah, I honestly don't believe he will be involved. I think the PR are doing this to get some sort of positivity going before the game.

I'm not discounting that as a possibility, but it would be a pretty dumb move because the moment the matchday squad was announced and he wasn't in it, the positivity would dissipate in an instant.

We'll probably be told in the press conference today anyway, which allows a full 30 hours or so for any buoyancy to disappear.

Moving like we are alien to them or something :D

Any normal club would only show him training when he's ready to come back.

The way this season has gone though, the PR team have gone:

'Everyone is really sad cos we might get relegated. You know what might cheer them up a bit...? Put out a video of Maddison in training. '

'He isn't ready to be a part of the match day squad yet though.'

' I know but it'll show we're not panicking and are getting prepared for next season. Have them all smiling and laughing too. Fans will love it!'

If they put that video out and he isn’t ready at least for the bench against Brighton they are serious numpteys.

Be amazed if he’s ready for tomorrow. With that type of injury you’d want at least a few weeks full contact training, and some game time with the under 21s before throwing him back in

I’m sure Dragusin played in the youth teams as part of his rehab.

The social media team are at fault here for picturing him in training. He's weeks away at best. It takes a long time to be ready for a physical game after an ACL. We saw this with Rodri last year. He was training for months before he was ready to play again and anytime they rushed him they were hit with a long set back. Its only now - 18 months later that Rodri is back to his pre-ACL form. We won't see Maddison at any sort of level until next season.

If we got him back for the last 2 games of the season then I'd consider that a success. He was never going to be involved this week.I think if we had him come off the bench for a few cameos for the final 2/3 games then that would be great.

Sorry to burst the baloon but people were getting way too excited about the idea of him returning. He's still a long way off.

I don't really see an issue with posting him being back in full training. He's been off for a long time with a serious injury logic tells you he's not just going to pop back in to full training for a week and be ready to play on the weekend. If you see him this season and he makes an impact it's a bonus.

Be amazed if he kicks a ball for us again this season.
When Dragusin came back from his ACL, he had 2-3 weeks on the grass. Then from memory I think he played a half for the U21s and then an hour in their next game and then he made our bench.

I'd actually forgotten this wasn't the injury he got at the tail end of last season and that he came back from that in pre-season.

rodri was also out for 8 months... which is where maddison is

Its only in the last 2 months that he's been able to play 90 mins and play consistent football. It took 18 months to get back to that level.

He was a shadow of himself in that club world cup and ended up with endless set backs. He only got back playing football at Christmas (15 months after ACL) and only really discovered his form this March

Yeah it isn't so much the pictures that are the issue. It's the circumstances.

If we weren't fighting for Premier League survival thanks to loss...after loss...after loss...and also experiencing every decision being the wrong one...then chuck some pictures out there.

With everything going on though, to promote it so heavily is tone deaf. We're not looking for things to look forward to when the here and now is so precarious.

For god's sake, why can't anyone in any role at the club have a bit of common sense??
