Player James Maddison

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Exactly. I used to ref. And the key difference between me and most (almost all really) people commenting on games I was involved in, was that I had actually read the rules and their interpretation. Several times.

It is as staggering as it is laughable how many people in football think they know the laws of the game without having read them.

Hey, the 1970s called and said it touched the ball, and can it have it's ball back, while you nurse your broken ankle. Play on, he touched it!!!
That's the thug on a Sunday morning that is.
Put some one you don't even know in hospital with a broken leg and cost them weeks of wages "but won the ball mate"

Mate of mine has an interesting theory:

- VAR was introduced after years of small teams complaining about being robbed
- Powers that be made sure that VAR was flawed from the off, and refs briefed to fuck it up on purpose
- Now even the most fervent VAR lovers want it gone
- Authorities will eventually scrap it by popular demand
- Refs can go back to screwing smaller teams without 20 replays to show how corrupt they are

I was in favour of VAR and still am.
I don't want it to ever go back to 1 person being in sole charge of a game.

But this iteration of VAR is as bent as it was before VAR.
I want a completely different body "video reffing" games to those on the pitch.
And if either one continuously gets things wrong they get sacked.
And those judging whether they're right or wrong have to be yet another body.
There are billions of pounds in elite football. None of this should be deemed too hard to implement.

I just want Goal Line technology ... and they can stick it on the technical areas too if they want, especially at the Emirates (if they wanna put it to good use!)

The other thing VAR has somehow spawned is the Semi automated offside thing, which I genuinely don't see how it benefits ...
All it means is the flag going up WAY after the event, so as to allow play to go on pointlessly, and let var sort it out later...

I do wonder how many unnecessary injuries and wastes seconds have occured because players were playing on needlessly as the offside was clear, and nothing came of it?

IF VAR still can't rectify clear mistakes on the pitch, but merely continue the strategic narrative they've already pre agreed on ,then seriously, What's the point ?

Wasn't Isak offside when VDV broke his leg?

The way this season is going, someone high up and powerful in the league office is an Woolwich fan and just wants to see Spurs in chaos.

Every decision awarded for Woolwich. Everything against us.

That’s a more likely theory than just corruption.
could it be the same person who helped Partey stay out of trouble while he was at the Gooners and only come out about his crimes when his contract ended ….. Mr Starmer we know it’s you!

Cunt!

Like it or not the laws are only part of the equation. Football is more common law in that interpretation is based upon what has gone on beforehand unless explicitly saying we are now reffing like this. Easiest way to demonstrate is its harder to get a second yellow and you can foul at corners, neither are in the laws but its the way its reffed because we have always done it that way

Summit like that....

I'm sure there was an Isak one when he was at Newcastle too where he got injured AFTER an offside flag wasn't raised in time.... Maybe it's him?!

It's happened enough times, to enough different players for someone to look at scrapping it....

Like the players waiting for 5+ minutes getting cold mid-March, while there's a VAR decision they need to look at UNTIL they find an angle that goes against us!

It's an ideal fixing tool, for all your corruption agenda led needs!

Up to a point yes, I agree.

His latest interview really does paint him to be proper captain material. Definitely very much liked across the club, mucks in with the young players - the attitude is top class.

If only he could stay fit for a whole season...

Absolutely has to start on Sunday to give us any kind of forward momentum

Play Madders inside left, Tel wide right and don't let Muani out of the training ground. When Maddison gets knackered being on Berg or Sarr and fill the midfield

He's done a Kane. The long ball is there he's shaped for it and doesn't trust playing it because of his knee. He's not ready and pinning a result on him is a fucking sorry state of affairs after coming back from the injury he's had.

Been out for the entire season but still shows so much more class the few minutes he has played than the rest of the team. Probably says something about how shit the rest of them are.
