Player Jamie Donley

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I said at the time why we sending out our best young players who in some cases are older than gray and berg. We should have kept donley and Devine who are no way any worse than players like Werner, Sarr or even gray on CM. Soon as you see Alfie play you his a proper footballer can pass the ball sweaty. Donley has a great left foot. I’m sure they could have played in games like Tamworth or Coventry plus most of the EL games. We are told its project youth and that is why Ange is here. From the evidence it’s only project youth if we go out and buy young players whilst completely ignoring the young players we have here already. Ange ain’t no promoter of academy players.

Given the mess we are in, and the fact he can play EL without taking up a spot, I’d have him back today and in the team against Elfsborg.

Could play LB or 10 to cover Maddison, just seems a no brainer to me.
Sounds like a terrible idea to me. It's his first ever loan and he's doing well and playing consistently, if we brought him back he would barely play for the rest of the season. He's not a LB and he would be behind at least Maddison and Kulu for 10.

There’s an argument for that. There’s also argument that he’s in a beautiful rhythm right now, his team-mates trust him, and his confidence will be growing and growing. Maybe just leave him where he is.
💯 this.
Being the main man at a promotion chasing L1 team is a lot more beneficial than the last 10-15 mins every other week at a team at the bottom of the championship

I don’t think bringing him back is the answer. Firstly it would look very bad pulling a player early. Loans are a two way thing, we get player development and they get a body. If we pull early it might affect our reputation with loaning players which seems to be good at the moment.

Also the club need to take responsibility and get some ready made players for now. Let Donley have his moment in the sunshine before him comes back to the shitstorm that is Spurs.
