Player Jamie Donley

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Scored last night. Players obviously delighted with the goal but it seemed like he is a popular figure at the club judging by the celebration.
Oxford looks a different team with him playing.

Just seen this recent pic of him

Couldn't place who it looked like at first... then it dawned on me....

Fucking hell!!

...and I thought it was just Keiran Trippier who bore a passing resemblance to him!

What the actual fuck?!
None of them look anything alike, are you face blind or something? Because apart from vaguely similar hair cuts, there's no resemblance at all.

I would have loved to have seen Donley stay with us this season. Hopefully next season will be the time.
That the club was willing to put in a pretty low option clause into the loan deal suggests there's not much chance of that.

Which is a shame, because even if the likes of him and Devine turn out to be average at best, they could hardly be worse than the players we sign for £20-30m who contribute next to fuck all across an entire season.

Tell me that Devine could be as ineffective as Sarr? Tell me that Donley wouldn't have been useful to bring on here and there to provide some spark from AM? Would we be worse off had we given minutes to Ash Phillips over spending £50m+ on the likes of Dragusin and Danso? I doubt any fan that's paid any attention would commit to either stance, and yet the idiots at the club felt it a good idea to not only loan out three of the players in reserve who are somewhat equipped to contribute in mens football, but also commit to selling for a relative pittance should the other clubs wish to make permanent.

We'll probably never see any of these lads play a competitive game in a Spurs shirt.

ABSOLUTE

I am hoping the options don't turn out to mean much. Even what looks like a low option to us would be a big decision for Preston or Oxford. Plus the players have to agree to go and we can make a salary offer that would be much better than anything they can get at their loan clubs.

The main thing would be playing time. Both Alfie and Jamie are going to be nailed on starters next season if they stay where they are while we would almost certainly make them sit in the stand and watch some expensive show pony fuck about.

I was thinking more that it's indicative of the club's assessment of them, if they were considered even just potentially part of the future plans then we wouldn't be putting clauses of £4-5m in these loans.

As it stands, it seems as though these might be out of reach for the loaning clubs, however if they see that these players might be worth a hell of a lot more then they could bite the bullet and cough up safe in the knowledge that they could flip the player for 3 or 4 times as much in 6-12 months time.

But more importantly, I don't trust our club to get lucky and see these players return, only to either loan out again or sell for peanuts next summer, whilst we go out and waste £20m on one of the data nerds' spreadsheet picks. Probably a 19 year old too so that they can never become CT but are also too inexperienced to contribute anything meaningful.

The club is run by idiots mate, we know this.

Agree with all the above.

It doesn't say much about the belied from the powers that be in our youth system at all. I saw enough of Donley at Orient to know that there is a very good player there. Weight of pass, eye for a through ball, and a good shot on him. He's no more of a risk that £25m is on Odebert or £55m is on Xavi.

You got me there, to be fair.
On closer inspection you've got a point... It was more the expression than anything else I think...

Shoulda put my reading specs on!
