“Spurs have begun to possibly think about inquiring as to the future availability of the young prospect, contingent on the sale of another member of the current squad should he desire to leave in the summer, but only if the new stadium is progressing at a rapid clip, and in the event that a Champions League place is secured.”

I always get the impression we don't quite know what or who we want and that the transfer windows always seem to take us by sutprise.

Not so much any lack of signings as opposed to not having an idea of how to improve our lot.

At least that is how it comes across.

Are these scottish players? Cos it does beggar the question, assuming they are Scottish, with all these top class Scottish players you wibble on about, how are Scotland so fucking shite?
are we? we have a population of around 5 million. You cunts are around 60 million. Proportionately, the English are, to a spectacular degree, more shite than the Scots.

Just my two cents, but there's a clear difference in the way Poch is talking about this transfer window compared to last January. Last time it was flat out "we won't be doing business" and sure enough we didn't.

Now in today's pre-Everton press conference, he's saying "right now, today, nothing is about to happen". Based on the years he's been with us, Poch always plays down whatever is going on behind the scenes (he's basically the opposite of Gold and Sullivan). Things might not come off, but it sure sounds like we're trying to do something this month...

Who knows what might come out of left field. The Sanchez transfer went from 0-60 incredibly quickly, and we managed to conceal most of our pursuit of him.

A great out of left field signing would be Emil Forsberg from RB Leipzig. He's been injured since the end of 2017 but according to a lot of German physios he should have been back 2 weeks ago. So seems like he is trying to work a transfer out since the club is quiet about his situation.

I've always said that Poch speaks in contracts. The players he rates get repeated new ones, the players he doesn't, don't and are likely to be moved in this window or the next.

Doing good business in January is notoriously difficult ... for every 'great' signing there are ten duds ... teams just do not sell their best or even good players mid-season without a massive price hike ....

We (and everyone else) will only buy where we see an opportunity ... that's a 10m Dele type purchase not a mega-bucks superstar .... even City with all their financial clout are not going to let Woolwich screw them for Sanchez ... free in 6 months or 30m today .... is that even a choice?

Barca set the bar stupidly high with Coutinho .... that killed this window stone dead ....
