So a mere 5 games is enough to judge a manager now? Lol.... I didnt realise you meant THAT short term!

Tell me; how quickly did you sour on Poch?

...I'm curious.

I'm adding all Mourinho's games, and for me the arrow is just pointing downwards. I'm not seeing any improvements from game to game, and I'm very dissapointed how long he keeps some of these players in the squad.

I didn't turn my back on Poch. The mob here wanted Poch head and weren't to concerned about the players. All of a sudden the Cereal Cruncher is struggling then it must be wrong with every single player.

Then you're being wilfully blind.

The improvements are perfectly tangible. I've already pointed them out to you.

I don't know what that last part means.

....I was Poch In too, but if you can be patient during a steady and constant decline over the first part of this season (with the same probs as you cite with Jose.... or worse).... A decline that others may argue was going on for as long as a year; it doesn't add up that you're being so impatient and terminally critical over JM after such a short period of time.

...Unless of course, you are being purely biased in which case; meh.

Why didn’t we just buy him for the £18m they paid in the summer then?
So these types of things are going to be the biggest mystery of the Poch era to me and I don’t think we will ever get the full story.

I think it’s pretty well documented that Spurs did not have a very robust internal analytics department until very recently when they started outsourcing some work to 21st club, and how much input/influence that team has compared to traditional scouting, manager and chairman is a bit of a mystery. There were also reports that the lack of a DoF and Mitchell leaving left a gaping hole that was never really back filled with talent.

Theres also been plenty of reporting to suggest Poch was very particular about signings, and often vetoed transfers that Levy sanctioned. The story of Clarke is one where Levy and others saw a good opportunity and Poch basically refused to even listen and forced the loan back. I don’t think I need to list evidence of Levy’s parsimony, either.

Compare this to how Liverpool, City, and some other clubs in Europe are run, and it’s night and day. Klopp has much less influence over transfers than Poch ever had - he notably did not want to sign Salah. There are many articles on how City have combined their unmatched financial weight with scouting and analytics and that Pep is part of a larger team when it comes to player recruitment.

Clubs can’t just “back the manager” anymore. It’s a total team effort, and Spurs by all accounts are 5 years behind where they need to be to get the talent to compete with Europe’s elite consistently.

Just get some decent English battling players in who care and don’t bottle it lots of good players at lower premier league clubs who I’m sure would love to play for us. Don’t know what the scouts at our club are doing to be honest. All theses foreign players we don’t know just get you all excited then let you down. Rant over

We should keep an eye out for Tyrone Mings, despite him being older.

I think we shared a positive appraisal of him some days ago.....

Hearing Villa fans talk about him they do seem to back up the theory that he conspires to make at least one big blunder in most games.

Didn't realise he was 26 already (27 in March).... How coach-able is he at this point?
