Glad you're 100% certain, because I'm certainly not.

Daniel Levy cares about this club, everyone who thinks he enjoys sabotaging us is an idiot
(not that I'm implying this is what you think)

Sure, he has his flaws: I am not going to deny his negotiation style takes too long or that his haggling is excessive, but I can understand why he does it.

In addition, Levy is also part of Tottenham Hotspur, so let's at least give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. (By which I mean if the window closes and we don't have a striker in, we should riot)

My only problem with Levy is his , IMHO, too profit orientated approach. There is a time to spend big to progress the team both on and off the field and we don't see that from him.

Though I have my thoughts on reasons why we'll not sign anyone this window.

I would say avoid tweeners at all cost and get 2 actual practitioners of both positions. But he is young and we know that's your thing. But again, that wasn't my point and you know it.

My point was he isn't what you thought he was and your impression was borne from the goal stats. Hard to replicate that goal hanging and implement the 'intelligence' when you can't get to those positions.

I don't really know what you point was Todd, I'm not sure you do. He is exactly what I thought he was. A 19yo kid who's still raw, who I watched play numerous times for Fulham - because we'd been heavily linked with him - and saw that at times he showed enough composure (remarkable composure for a 17yo at the time) to score 16 and assist 8 goals in the championship.

Tonight emphasised why I still see him and would rather he played as a wide forward. But for 25m I thought it was worth a punt for a kid that could potentially offer us cover in two positions and maybe excel in one of them. he's HG so it's almost a free hit, and will definitely be some value to recover if it fails.

I mean as a forward he could be no fucking less composed than the clowns we've got up there now, who haven't got a first touch between them.

Max Aarons looks like he could be a quality fullback. Only 20 years old and looked very solid. If Norwich go down in the summer you can bet your sweet ass that there will be Premier League clubs lining up to take him away.

Young, talented and English. Ticks Levy's boxes.

Did you read the article about Fat Frank that I sent you?

I agree with you in that he is too profit oriented.
Maybe it's because that's something he understands the most/ has the most control over himself?

However I do think there has some big spending going on off the field (Training ground and stadium) to try and progress the team in the long term and for the first time (yes perhaps a season too late) we also saw bigger expenditure in the squad (Ndombele, Lo Celso and almost Dybala).

In my opinion, I still think a dedicated DoF is the missing piece of the puzzle to take our squad management to the next level.

I don't get this Willian Jose thing at all? I absolutely have not watched anything of Sociedad, but having watched as much YT and clips as I can and looked at his all round numbers - he seems even more one dimensional than Piatek. In a team that has highish possession collectively he's touching the ball about 15 times a game. That's not the type of striker that replicates Kane's role, or the lone striker role Mourinho wants.

Why the fuck would we want a 28yo ho hum journeyman - and this cunt is the journeyman to end all journeyman - had about 20 clubs nearly all of them on loan?

Just give Parrott some fucking game time FFS. Or buy someone worth buying, who's younger, better, higher potential whatever, who will actually bring something to the squad medium/long term and have some inherent footballing and monetary value.

From where I was standing, max Aarons looked dog shit, given a free reign where sess was constantly stood as far as he could get from him in miles of space, either player could of influenced the game with the space on that side, but neither did enough, Serge was much better

Both were free transfers. Saha came in on an 18 month deal. Pienar went the other way, but not sure it was connected.

Nelson had his contract cancelled and joined as a free agent the next day on a 6 month deal with a 12 month option. Was never taken up.

Just checked... You're right.... Thrown by the fact that both were gone again 6 months later.

Regarding Aarons:

Luckily for us, if we are interested we will probably get him.

No club bigger than us financially really need him. Liverpool have TAA, Man Utd spent huge on AWB, Chelsea have James, City have Walker/Cancelo.

Norwich will probably go down and I think we'll go for him in the summer once Norwich go down

In 9 years this guy has moved for a grand total of 7m Eur. And 6m of that was his last move three years ago. Why the fuck would we pay any more than 10m for him. He's going to be worth about 2m in a years time.

That's how the Portuguese Football Mafia works. They get themselves into positions of power with rich clubs then convince them to pay exorbitant fees for average footballers. Agents and managers siphon of the bulk of funds. 20 million will probably go to Mendes and 10 to Mourinho.
