For all those moaning about no striker being signed - who would want to come and play second fiddle to Kane?

Always excuses, when will the well run dry my friend? You have our current manager literally saying it would have been better to sign a striker as we need someone up top right now and your only concern is "who's going to play second fiddle to Kane"

Are we a one man team now all of a sudden? We have to start thinking beyond Kane or giving him some competition.

Nice try Dan. Saw through it while reading he first line though, sorry!

:kaneshh:
Who would we have signed, then? Who would we have sold? How much better off would we have been?

People push that "failed summer" narrative suffer under the delusion that we'd have signed De Jong, De Ligt, Malcom, and Bale (only Malcolm was available and Barca went far above what we could do) whilst not selling anyone. That is a complete fantasy compared to how we realistically can do business.

If you aren't going to put effort into specifically refuting points made in a thought out, organized, and delivered post then just fuck off right past it.

That's it genius why buy backup for situations such as Kane injury or loss of form or tactical, that's why Barcelona won't buy another forward because why should he be second fiddle to Messi after all they don't win anything either...,.....,. Oh wait shit they do.

I am confused.

Would Messi be second fiddle to Kane or would Kane be second fiddle to Messi ?

what’s with all the fiddles, blatant virtue signaling for Violins. This world is too Woke.

And no transfer window is complete without tracking a plane......

Totally agree. That excuse is starting to fuck me off. How we have got through the last couple of seasons with just Kane has been nothing short of lucky. We NEED another striker! Look at City, Jesus is itching to play and gets his chance starts scoring for fun. It just eggs Aguero on, he then comes back and smashes even more goals in. We need someone to push Kane, even potentially better him. We are not a one man team, we all know we need another striker, anyone saying otherwise or quoting it’s ok with just Kane are clueless!

Reiterating what I’ve been saying. Not buying a player for a full year is what put us in this situation. Criticizing that is completely fair. It put us in a very awkward situation with multiple players and made it difficult to buy or sell. So bash that year all you want. I’m right there with you. But bitching and moaning like not signing a mediocre at best striker this window is a bit over the top. It’s disappointing but it’s certainly not something I see keeping us from competing for the top four. Chelsea and United both had starting strikers go down and have both failed to find a replacement. Panic buys are very rarely a good idea and I’m glad we are being a little cautious and not short sighted.

Call me an apologist. I don’t care. I’m happy. We have more young promising talent on the team than we’ve maybe ever had. We have a serial winner as manager. Be happy for once.

A reasonable approach to our situation, surely not??
:sonhmm:

End of the day it shouldn't be this hard to find and buy a decent striker.
