Not sure if we'll still be in for him but Skriniar was probably Inter's best player yesterday against Atalanta on his return from a Covid enforced absence. Good on the ball, tidy in most of his defending, some good interceptions and smart headers. One feature of his game I've noticed is he'll try to leave a heavy clatter on the opposition's 'danger-man' early in the game. I can see why Mourinho apparantly likes him, but can't see us going over €45m.

Tottenham have been offered the chance to re-sign Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen, 28, from Inter Milan. (Football Insider)
Thankfully doesn't seem like Levy will allow him back.

Eriksen is done. Inter was his last chance to show he could overcome his mental issues and become a good player again, if he couldn't do it there I don't think he will do anywhere else.

I wouldn’t take Eiksen back as his loss of form seems to be more than a dip.

But I do think he’s been unfairly treated by certain sections of the fan base who are forgetting quite how good he was for us.

Lyon general manager Vincent Ponsont has revisited Woolwich's attempts to sign Houssem Aouar over the summer.

Woolwich 's technical director Edu has already confirmed that the two clubs did engage in some talks, but ultimately a deal was unable to be completed.

Ponsont has now gone into more detail on their approach, while also suggesting he could be available when the window re-opens in January.

Dele to PSG and Sissoko to... and get Aouar just to witness the AFTV meltdown :D

I like Aouar, but he's not really the answer to our CM2 issues - which Mourinho seems hell bent on playing every game. If we are going to keep playing this system then we need a player with physical qualities (and I don't just mean a unit - I mean a player who is physically imposing, be that strong or fucking dynamically tenacious - ie Kante or Wanyama type physical attributes) but who can also play some football and is technically decent too. There's a fucking bunch of this type of player kicking around in various degrees of qualities and prices, there are clubs in the bottom six with these types of players who are more competent than Sissoko or Winks for the CM2 role Mourinho uses them for.

I really like the look of Douglas Luiz (Aston Villa). Pep thought he's quality enough for Man City, but they couldn't sort out work permit for him, so forced to sell him to Aston Villa. He has been developing very well. Defensive midfielder that has the basic right, and good at beating the press, playing under pressure. Good passing range too. Thiago Alcantara lite IMO.

PEH MK II?
