So we miss out on another player after dawdling and lowballing.

Based on the “bids” we’ve made on Traore and Diaz we must have at least £70m to spend, so Levy must have alternative options he can sign. Right? I sure hope this doesn’t turn out like Dybala where we made a failed £70m offer but that money mysteriously disappeared never to be seen again.

We also bid £60m on Lautaro Martinez a few months ago.

Even Burnley are having a better window than us; they're closing in on Weghorst and Orsic.

Not for losing out on Diaz mate. That's ridiculous really. Maybe when Pochettino was flying we would habe got such a player. Now no chance.

Not excusing other failings but here, can't agree.

What is important with Newcastle coming over the Horizon and Villa threatening is to try and find some unknown jewels and soon. .

On this Diaz, I thonk it's more about the lure of Liverpool than the repulsion of us, and more than mobey alone.

Willian joined a champions league club when we had finished 5th under AVB and was pretty unusual, the only other one like that was Petit. Normally deals that advanced you dont get gazumped. Not disputing Liverpool are a bigger pull than us at the moment but we clearly moved away from Traore to concentrate on Diaz and to end up with neither looks pretty shambolic.

Traore chose Barca over us; partly cos of the club and also as he'd get to play RW rather than RWB.
But if we had bid more, he'd never have had the choice in the first place

Vlahovic - least he is going Juv not Woolwich
Traore - least he is going Barca not another prem team
Dias - least he is not going to Chelsea

If correct not great I agree so let's see what we do in the next 3 days.

I think Levy will know the toxicity that is coming if we fail to bring in some quality before February.

I didnt want Traore so not fussed but its not a good look that both main targets have gone elsewhere albeit to clubs you'd expect them to choose. I highly doubt Conte will be impressed and nor will our match going fanbase.

But the reason why we can’t attract Diaz over Liverpool is because of what Levy has done over the last 4-5 years. When Poch needed backing most, Levy stood still. We are still paying for that. We were ahead of Liverpool, now we’re further behind than ever.

That didn’t happen by itself.
