can't agree with that group of players, i know we don' have much and that is why conte's first 11 is what it is
Sanchez can't/won't play on the left, seen it for past 3 seasons each time he is put there he moves over to the right, did it with Toby & Dier
both of our DM's aren't good enough on their own to protect the defence
Ndombele just not hard working enough for 45mins yet alone full match
Dele is ok as a second striker breaking into the box if he had an Eriksen play maker behind him
Son is not Thierry Henry, Son is an on/off struker he is now into his off form , playing as a CF he can't head the ball, can't hold the ball up
think the system Conte is using at present 3-4-3 with Hojberg & skipp protecting is the best we have at present

For every single reason you give for that formation not working with those players, I can give you one for the one we’re using not working.

Difference is we haven’t tried a different one.
Conte says we’re struggling and need huge changes, yet won’t change anything.

What’s the definition of insanity again……?

The more Conte comes out with these kinds of comments the more it seems we are not really pushing for top 4 this season.

Maybe it was made clear at the outset that Conte's targets are a top 6 finish and next season we really go for it after a summer rebuild.

It's annoying because once again we are right in the mix and a couple of shrewd additions could get us over the line - sound familiar?

I think for Conte “competing” means competing for the PL title. A top 4 finish is not competing to him unless too 4 means also competing for a title.

We have 4 academy in our match day squad, and too much shit from yesteryear

However we also had 100M in two of our biggest flops on the pitch last night
sad part is we had 1 flop (Doc) on the pitch then subbed on 2 flops( GLC Ndombele) in second
that's where we are
yet no heads have rolled for the money wasted, maybe its the guy in change that wanted these player ?

Our biggest problem however is not levy but more our scouting. Because we actually been spending money in the last 3 seasons but it’s been almost all on dog shite players. Seriously. Ndombele lo Celso sessegnon bergwijn Doherty at the very least are colossal wastes of money. And Emerson also looks very limited so far. Hojberg as been terrible but he was decent last season and was cheap. Reguilon is also average so far. And our loans? Gollini gedson and Vinicius. Three extreme limited players as well.

I do agree that we don’t have a whole host of options and the swapping problems part.
Personally I think that at the very least just play a system they are used to..

I’d go for (until signings are made)

…………………………..Lloris

Royale………Dier…………Sanchez…………Reggie

…………………………Hojberg

……………Skipp………………....Ndombele

…Moura…………………………..…………….…….Dele

…………………………..…Son
I get the logic.

For me, I’d go (assuming all fit)

Lloris

Romero Dier Davies

Bergwijn TBC Skipp GLC Reggie

And then 2 of Son, Kane or Moura up top (would drop whoever is playing the worst, Son right now).

I really think Bergwijn can play RWB (he was sort of asked to play that role under Jose anyway with the amount of tracking he was doing). I understand it compromises the defence, but we need quality out wide and he can beat a man and deliver a decent cross without question.

It has to be worth a try.

For the MF trio, Skipp as the anchor seems logical albeit I’m not as sold on him as others. At least he applies himself.

Then the other 2 playing either side of him in a similar structure to how we played against Liverpool. I’m not wedded on who the other 2 are (fully fit and motivated it’d be Ndombele and GLC, but that’s unlikely) but we need to have players with some quality that’s for sure. The role could potentially suit Dele too but that might be wishful thinking.

Up top, 2 of the other 3. There’s a consensus that we have to play Kane because he’s an outlet to hold the ball up, that’s absolutely not true. He wins less headers and is worse with his back to goal than Moura at the moment.

I think any blend of the 3 will create problems for the opposing CBs, and I’m now 100% convinced that Son is a better CF than wide player at this stage in his career. His runs in behind are more effective on the shoulder.

It’s not ideal, don’t get me wrong. But I think it has:-

- Enough defensive solidity
- More ball players (and generally more bodies) in MF
- More creativity in wide areas (Bergwijn)
- More flexibility of options up top where we only need to play 2.

All problems solved, PL winners next year.

i see what you are saying, but we don't see training, we only get the little video's the club want us to see
i know it doesn't matter to Conte's bank balance if he gets the sack here because he trys things, its down to pride that if he doesn't trust players he won't risk playing them in EPL
we all saw what the second 11 can do in the europa conf, so why would you trust 2/3 by putting them in the first team

Liverpool close to signing Luis Diaz to prevent their attack from going stale. Just like they signed Jota a couple of seasons ago despite having the best frontline in the world.

Meanwhile we are happy to run Kane and Son into the ground and look for “backups” to them.
It’s just a different world.

We want to take part, but we have absolutely zero intention of trying to win anything. The Chelsea game yesterday really threw everything into stark contrast; the absolute gulf in talent between the sides.

I’m expecting a painful second half of the season.
