Let’s see if he makes mistake after mistake like Levy does, year after year

I don’t think you can solely pin that on him

Personally I can accept that the Kane saga left us thinking on our feet; unsure of how aggressive we could afford to be in terms of specifically seeking a CF, but I do think not bagging a goal-scorer of any kind can fairly be considered a failure.

Bale / Lamela / Vinicius: Out.
Gil: In

.......Was clearly insufficient.

Bale was the big loss. Vin was pathetic in the PL and Lamela never fit.

I have faith that Paratici and Conte also now agree it’s insufficient and will address it

Yes please. Very versatile young midfielder. A bit of that much needed creativity that we have been crying for. Contract until 2023.

Here he is scoring against Jose and Roma.

You didn't name the player you were posting about.

Midfielder 6'1". Only 22 yo but 4 years experience playing regularly. Chips in with a few goals.
Never heard of him.

Vinicius was never given a chance. JM was too scared to give him minutes even when would have been easy to do so in some games. I thought he was a decent player.

Bale. Such a shame and a waste of time. Again JM fault for not getting him match fit.

You're just helping his point...
You get what you pay for. When a £10 Million So'ton castaway plays every single minute of every single PL match, don't be surprised when you finish 7th.

What's the award prize for winning the Conference League? Will it even pay for a £10 Million Højbjerg?

Bale only played 900 PL minutes last season but scored 11 goals and 2 assists. That's 1.27 G+A/90. That is a fucking joke.

If he'd played more we very well may have finished better than 7th.

If our managers played our 2 most expensive transfers (when available) we very well may have finished better than 7th.

Not to mention that there was a near consensus around here that summer about getting Ndombele and Lo Celso. Those were the guys. Maybe some preferred Bruno to Lo Celso, but those were the guys everyone wanted... and we got them.

4 managers later we're stuck with Højbjerg as the guy in ink on the team sheet, and still on the outside looking in to top 4.

On paper, yes.

In reality, the Vinicius buy out clause was ridiculously high and Bale may not have wanted to come back.

Bale has already missed 19 matches to injury this season for Real, whilst Lamela (who's been out for a month already with a shoulder injury) isn't due back for Sevilla until late March 2022.

Yet.... Ndombele & GLC.

Bale has next to nothing to do with this.......

(Besides, the stats rose-tint things... He played his way out of contention as much as he played his way into the starting XI on a couple of occasions).

Yet, on reflection they WEREN'T the guys.... The armchair scouts here got it wrong; so what?

Perhaps if one or both of them would had delivered on our investment in them, then maybe they'd have been able to keep the so-called inferior PEH out of the team.

It's funny; you make play the "4 managers" card, yet those same 4 managers thought "fuck TN & GLC"........ There's a "cake and eat it" dynamic to your argument.

.....And in actuality. As back-up striker he scored a bunch of goals in the cups and allowed us to rest Kane.

No-one's making the argument that we should have bought him; just that our trf window left us 2 attacking players lighter than the season before.

and Bale may not have wanted to come back.

See above.... The point is about how many; not whom.

...I'm not sure you really have the drift of the discussion here.

Our trf window.

2 x AMs + 1 x ST out / 1 x AM in.

= -2 attacking players.
