Wow Ali Gold's analysis is bleak. Poor, poor Spurs. The money ain't there this January.

:tanguyhuh:interesting you think that, I think that about Vlahovic tbh.
Or certainly more of a risk when you're looking at 70/80M and over 200K p/w
Another B&E loan?Wow Ali Gold's analysis is bleak. Poor, poor Spurs. The money ain't there this January.
It would be on a free... but potentially a massive waste of wages if he's injury prone/ doesn't work hard enough. If Dembele is truly available for a reasonably affordable fee, I would still go for him.
The guy is a genuinely generational talent. If it weren't for injuries, I really do think he could have been the better player between him and Mbappe.
I understand the scepticism, but the prospect of a front three of Dembele, Kane and Son in a fully functional, well oiled Conte team is absolutely terrifying.
A free next Summer. It would be on a free... but potentially a massive waste of wages if he's injury prone/ doesn't work hard enough.
I don’t think so- which top club wants him? He’s injury prone and has attitude issues.A free next Summer.
I would imagine if we were to ensure we got his signature, we would almost certainly have to move for him and pay some sort of fee in January.
The fight for him on a free in the Summer would be an impossible one to win.
ENIC apologistWow Ali Gold's analysis is bleak. Poor, poor Spurs. The money ain't there this January.
You were doing right until the Benteke part.Assuming Kane stays, its unlikely any young 'top' central striker will come and sit behind him. Maybe an older player looking for good wages but limited playing time (e.g. Cavani).
Will we bring somebody in to succeed Son? Well, we already have Bergjwin and Gil.
So, that brings us to Moura. Who happens to be one of our best players - it will be expensive and difficult to find a better player than Moura.
My view is that we need a peak player to rotate with Son. Son is ineffective against teams that drop back and give him no space to run into. He is practically useless at receiving the ball with his back to goal. We need a strong player; good in the air with good hold up play. Kinda like we had with Llorente. When teams park the bus, have him stay in the 18 yard box and fire balls into him. Cheeky bid for Benteke?![]()
We won’t sign a decent striker under ENIC, they cost too much so I hope we pivot and look at positions we have a chance with like a back up RB and keeper. No point if Paratici investing time and energy for players that will require a fee only for pinhead to renege. Send Don P off to the azebijan u21 league with a bag of buttonsKidding about Benteke, but my point is; of all of our attacking players, none of them are great in the air. Lucas is great at winning knockdowns outside the box, but against CB's he is no match. This affects our ability to win long balls and attack balls in the box.
However, in saying that; Benteke did top the stats for most heading goals last season, and is top 3 for most aerial duels won this season (given his limited minutes, that's impressive).
Tooney at Brentford could be a good shout. Very good in the air.
Unpopular opinion here, but I'd still have him. He's one of the best in the World when he's motivated, and I believe Conte can make him a star in a 3-4-3.
Way too much read into that "Serie A 'Defender of the Year'"But this Kule youngster is really struggling for Juventus in Serie A.
I was happy with Romero, because he was Serie A defender of the year.
While Max Kellerman's deformed twin wouldn't bother his lazy hole looking at certain leagues.henderson has alot of mistakes in him, but there is potential there
one we missed out on is onana, inter have got a good keeper there
Really like the look of Watford's Dennis this season. And at 24 is at a very good age. Not saying we should try to sign him, but worth keeping at eye on, as is the case for many players.
He’s a very average player, what we need are players to improve the starting X1 not more space fillersJust an idea - and you can all shoot it down, i am 100% okay with that. Cause it actually might be a bad idea. Hopefully no fault in asking.
But given
- how we have issues with HG number s
- how Norwich has already gotten relegated (not mathematically ofc, but in essence)
- how he did in previous season
- how he is not key part of the lineup this season really
- how he worked with Skipp (who should know him very well and could advise if we should try him)
- how his contract runs only until summer
Could we try to lowball Norwich to sell us Cantwell?
I am talking about 10 mil transfer fee + 90 th EUR pw salary.
Even if he comes in, does not work out and contribute, we could easily offload him for same amount in 18 months time.
I am thinking this could be a low risk deal, but in generally stronger side and with manager with clear vision, he could be decent? Or no? What do those think who have seen more of him?
Another example of how poor our scouting system is, we rarely find these gemsReally like the look of Watford's Dennis this season. And at 24 is at a very good age. Not saying we should try to sign him, but worth keeping at eye on, as is the case for many players.
Being saying this about Leicester for years. Glad someone else noticed it. I even said on here their ebitda was one of the worst I had ever seen in any industry. It is simply not a viable business.
