Transfers January 2022 - Transfer Window

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Most hopeful team we could end up with by Jan or the summer is based on transfer links the below.

343

Lloris
Romero Dier De Virj
Traore Skipp Brozovic Regulion
Vlahovic Kane Son

352

Lloris
Romero Dier De Virj
Traore Skipp Brozovic Kessie Regulion
Vlahovic/Kane Son
Not sure Vlahovic would work in the Lucas role. And Lucas has been excellent under Conte.

I'm not of the mind that he needs upgrading. If Lucas continues at this level he's one of our most important players.

Agree with the rest but Fernandes can't pass? He quite regularly drops the ball onto a plate for Ronaldo to finish (see Spurs game).

Sorry should have been more clear his recycling of the ball in the middle, ie the type of thing Winks does ok at , Carrick great at and what Modric was unbelievable at. What enables you to control a midfield. Passing in the middle and creativity up top are different and Fernandes is great at one and poor at the other.

Ultimately what will drive our business is whether Conte wants 343, 352 or a blend long term.

This is especially relevant in CM.

If we assume Dele/Ndombele are goners we have:

343:
Skipp -- PEH
352:
Winks (Skipp)
PEH --- GLC
Maybe Gio will prove himself in a midfield 2 but we look light for deploying what seems to be Conte's favoured 343 system. That's why I'm surprised to not see us linked with a CM in Jan - not that that means we wont sign one.

It was my impression that Conte favoured the 352 at Inter, it seems strange to me that he would deviate from this.

Really don't want Kessie, he's not a particularly good passer or tackler or great on the ball.

Average midfielder - please swerve

I understand the logic of a 3-4-3 formation not having a space for a creative mid.

But I still stand by this reply to Airfixx:
But no one can name anyone who would replace Ndombele/ GLC in our squad.

Kessie/Brozovic/Phillips role would be competing with Hojbjerg in the team.

And even if Conte plays 3-4-3, which means there's no room for an attacking mid in XI, it is dangerous to have a whole squad with no creative players. Especially as some teams like Southampton with 10 men, just sit back.

The argument is probably that with better quality at RWB or in the attacking 3 (i.e. not Emerson/Doherty or Dele) we will be more threatening and create more.

Imagine that's a Traore at RWB and Vlahovic in attack.

All in all we have created high XG under Conte so I don't think chance creation is an issue so the system itself is fine.

We just need to upgrade a few of the component parts so that the quality of first touches, link up play, final balls etc. is higher.

“I think Winks is good now because Conte told me to”

Grow a fucking opinion you sheep

It’s okay, some of us aren’t already turning on the manager like spoiled children, let it all out.

My own opinion is that he’s thus far impressed when played under Conte. Since he seems to rate him and starts him when he can, I’ll go with his assessment over the likes of you. He sees him in training as well after all.

I know you think having 500 shit, edgy takes on different topics makes your views interesting, but it doesn’t.

I wouldn’t be so confident in this- we’ve had relatively easy opposition mostly at home.

Yeah we could go for the Liverpool route and have creativity from WBs/FBs.
But then we need to buy a high quality RWB.
