His lack of gears in English football concern me greatly. Our team is too one paced already. We need more dynamism we are carrying PEH Kane skipp Winks Dier. If I was looking at a profile for the next forward we buy both pace and technical ability would be very high on my wants its why I'm now leaning more toward David than Vlahovic to add to the forward line. The unpalatable truth for Levy is we 100% need both. If are going to back Conte properly. Kane/Vlahovic Son/David. More likely but still acceptable would be Kane/Scamacca Son/David
I don't really see pace as an issue with our attack. Son, Lucas and Regy are all quite pacey. Emerson isn't slow by any stretch - Kane is probably our only below average attacker in terms of pace but he more than makes up for it with our qualities.

I mean, every club on earth would prioritize signing pacy players with technical ability if it was that simple.
Never said it was simple. Or possible just that it's what I would do. Nor if our reported targets are correct does it seem to be a profile we do priorities so not as obvious as you make out, see Vlahovic neither quick or particularly technical The point is IN MY opinion we need more.

I don't rate Reguilon at all. Lucas I'd like to upgrade which leaves Emerson a player most feel does fit our coaches preferred system...

I'd normally say we should never try to turn back time, but a motivated Eriksen would be a very different beast to the one we saw for the last 18 months of his spell here.

A big question is whether he's permitted to play in the Premier League with a pacemaker. If his agent is saying this then I'd gather it is allowed?

Interesting player. Was unreal at Parma in 2019/2020 as a 19 year old, 10 goals and 8 assists in a midtable Parma side. To put into perspective how good he was, in the 2020 Golden Boy Award voting he finished sixth. Behind only Haaland, Fati, Alphonso Davies, Sancho, and Camavigna. He was ahead of Foden, Szoboszali, Saka, Vinicius Jr, Ferran Torres, Greenwood, and Gravenberch.

Juve then pays huge money for him, 40m plus incentives. He played a lot last year under Pirlo and did okay. Had 4 goals and 3 assists in 19 starts, in a relatively disappointing Juve season. Hasn't played as much this season under Allegri in an even more disappointing Juventus season. So it's a little hard to sort through what to make of his time at Juve as they've had two pretty poor seasons.

In terms of him as a player, he's a bit of a tweener. He's tall and well built without top end speed, but his main position has been RW throughout his career though he's also played up top and in a role behind the striker. With us, he'd compete with Moura for that right inside forward role, which I think he's well suited for, or could play up top in a 3-5-2. He's got a nice left foot and cuts in well from the wing and he's also pretty creative and racks up assists and key passes at a good clip.

If we were to go for him, you'd be betting on his pedigree as one of the most impressive and coveted young players in Europe only 18 months ago. We'd have never had a chance to land a player like him then, so you'd be buying low after he's been pretty mediocre at Juve. But Juve as a whole has also been mediocre. He's still 21 and doesn't turn 22 until late April, so far from a finished product.

I think it's a worthwhile gamble if we could flip Lo Celso or Ndombele for him. It's a disappointment for disappointment flip, but he's 4 years younger than those two and arguably had a higher pedigree. Think he'd be good competition for Lucas for now at worst, while offering something a bit different than Lucas does, with potential to be way more than that.

If we can't get real cash for Ndombele or Lo Celso, you could do far worse than a punt on a player with Kulusevski's potential.
This was a good read.

I think his recent history leans towards a loan with option to buy.

My main reservation is that he is a ginga and this will clash horribly with our away strip. Maybe the club could pay him to get his hair dyed on a regular basis on top of his salary?

I don’t know whether he left on good terms with Levy though. He did seem to mess us around at the back end of his contract a bit.

Daily reminder that we don't want to do an Everton because reasons.

Fair point. Having said that, while he didn't sign a new contract despite us trying to offer one, the guy was only 6 months away from walking for free and, you'd think, getting an even more lucrative contract/signing on bonus wherever he went, whereas we did get a fee for him in the January.

Wouldn't be any harm in inviting him to the club to train, wouldn't need a contract yet and we could assess him at the same time.

I heard somewhere that Serie A is the only major league with a rule against it.

would not feel comfortable watching eriksen playing again to be honest. its anxious watching spurs as it is.

also he was pony before he finally got his move, fuck having him back. onwards and upwards!

If we aren't linked to any younger big name strikers, why wouldn't we make a move for Cavani right now? We need a back up striker and a striker that can start maybe 15-20 games if we play 2 up top. He seems like he'd be a very good fit for our needs right now. Could help us get into the top 4. We need some depth and goals immediately

Problem is these players rarely run in behind. Really only Sonny does. Kane is absolutely zero threat unless the defenders are sleeping. That means the opponent's backline can sit really high and squeeze the midfield which makes it more difficult to play through.

A RWB or backup/second striker with some more pace could really help push the defense back.

Stinks of the normal thing we do, I think this year should be different for us

Can we just act in line with all the big talk……for once?
