You should have been done earlier but at least you finally realized how wrong you were.
The Fighting Cock is a forum for fans of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club. Here you can discuss Spurs latest matches, our squad, tactics and any transfer news surrounding the club. Registration gives you access to all our forums (including 'Off Topic' discussion) and removes most of the adverts (you can remove them all via an account upgrade). You're here now, you might as well...
But you made absolutely no effort to explain what was supposedly 'wrong' in what I said. I was merely explaining to you what words mean - I'm not sure how that can be 'wrong as usual' - unless I've misunderstood the definition of the word 'fact'.
Conte gone welcome WarnockWe're going to announce a double signing tomorrow.
I can feel it in me bones...
You’re a really strange one mateYou should have been done earlier but at least you finally realized how wrong you were.
I forgot Son.
But who's been a really good purchase since those two?
What I think Conte likes to do.This is a great post. The goons have improved because they have started buying technically decent younger players and helped by having Saka and Smith-Rowe coming through. Its exactly how we improved back in 2004 and 2005. Chucking a load of money at fading superstars is the worst possible thing we could do now.
Levy is the enemy within, only interested in cheap options and not providing what the squad actually needLevy is responsible as he rarely looks for a finished player that has instant impact .
They are prospects which he hopes will have great sell on , cloggers like the Dane , Docherty
who are bargain buys .
His philosophy is self-destructive.
I believe Winks + cash would get us Bisouma. The most marketable of our dire midfield, if we can voodoo them into a Doherty plus cash for Lamptey….Long post sorry!!
What really concerns me about potential transfers this window is that we try to do too much too soon and end up with sub-par players.
Taking a scout of the forum, I think collectively I’ve seen a request for a new player in every position save maybe GK.
That sort of broad need is going to make us panic and buy the wrong sort of players.
If (and it’s a big if) we had 80m to spend this window, we would be well served giving the lot to Brighton for Bissouma (now cleared of potential criminal charges) and Lamptey.
Both would:-
- Significantly improve our starting XI
- Have PL experience meaning there’s almost no risk of being a bust (outside of injury)
- Be good enough to be a fixture within the side for the next 5 years.
If we try to sign a CB, CM, RWB and backup striker with that same money, we’re going to spend 20m on each and end up with high-risk players who have zero PL experience (Royal, GLC etc), or average players running down their contract (PEH).
This is what has killed us over the last 5 years.
Pay the right money for the right player, a scattergun approach is going to give us more of the same; a bloated squad full of mediocre talent.
Players such as Kusalevski and Romagnoli have as much chance of being worse than our current crop of players, as they do of improving the side.
When was the last successful transfer for Spurs?
Im guessing Hojberg or Reguilon or maybe Lucas Moura in 17/18
Success? I don’t see it.I agree if our transfers are all the Reguilon level we will not get to where we want to go to, but the transfer was a success.
The fact it is one of our best in recent years means we should 100% point fingers at the decision makers.
They have the most structured scouting and data department in the league. If you think there’s even a remote chance they take Docherty you need your head tested.I believe Winks + cash would get us Bisouma. The most marketable of our dire midfield, if we can voodoo them into a Doherty plus cash for Lamptey….
Would be an absolute robbery.
Except greed, I don’t think mancity need any players, they didn’t need Anieti when he was still a footballer, before someone says they need a striker.Thing is most of those clubs have their squads sorted out. Could they do with strengthening? Absolutey, but they can also compete for their goals with no January additions.
We on the other hand, have serious issues with the squad. Nobody is expecting a full overhaul this month but we have no depth at rwb or forward positions. On top of this we have incredibly difficult January fixtures that could end up being the difference between having Champions League football or not (given Uniteds form we also have been handed our best chance in years at getting back in).
Voodoo? They have the most structured scouting and data department in the league. If you think there’s even a remote chance they take Docherty you need your head tested

Even if he does not perform , he can offset the bad with the good like a carbon creditI think all this melting at this stage of the window is absurd.
Levy has only had 21 years. We should wait at least until the Summer transfer window 2030 slams shut before we judge him.
Leicester won the league and an FA CupDo any clubs have a decent track record of successful signings in the last five years?
Manure's scouting team is dictated to by online polls
Dippers haven't done much and when their aging players' bodies stop responding to the totally legal "asthma treatment" they will be mid table
I see a few suck off Leicester but they are bottlejobs of the highest order
Chavs have spunked so much on strikers alone. I'd be investigating the clubs who buy chav players as to where they get that sort of money which keeps chelski within FFP. But then again a club that is happy to run up a 1.4Bn IOU to a Russian mobster is hardly going to be squeaky clean.
Villa perhaps?
