If that happens I think Conte would walk in the summer. If GLC, Ndombele, Dele, Gil and possibly Tanganga are going then 4-5 need to come in.

I think GLC, Ndombele and Dele could be replaced by one midfielder. Their contribution this season is basically zero. We don’t have European matches so any leftover minutes in the cup can go to Harvey White.

But letting Gil go without signing a forward would be negligent. We need one even with him here. But knowing Levy, he won’t care. He’ll think Kane, Son, Lucas and Bergwijn is enough because he always knows better than the manager. Always. He has never given in to pressure for signings from any manager except for the time we were almost relegated. That’s the only thing that will get him spending. Bergwijn scored twice against Leicester so Levy will think that’s just as good as a new signing.

If we end up selling GLC, Ndombele and Dele or loaning Gil with no incomings in midfield, I'm going to throw it I think. I had enough.
Forgetting yesterdays lineup, we tend to play either two CMs and 3 attackers or 3 CMs and 2 attackers. We need 9 in my opinion for 5 positions, and top it up with a kid. If we’re left with just Winks, Skipp, Højbjerg, Lucas, Bergwijn, Son and Kane then we really need to sign 2 to replace them. One of each really, and both need to be first team quality, there’s no point in replacing squad players with more squad players.

Fuck me, it's near enough impossible to get one under-achieving player out of the club . You think 3 or 4 are going in a week?

Not a prayer.

I think Dele will go to Newcastle and if Conte really wants the rest of them out we can probably loan them, Ndombele has a lot of interest, Tanganga is linked with Milan, only one so far that is quiet is Lo Celso.

I just don't see that much activity in a week. That's based on our history of being incredibly passive and slow in dealing with any transfer activity loans or otherwise. Especially in January.

1 or 2 in/out is the best i would expect with probably a loan or loan-to-buy setup being one of them.

If Amrabat is really a serious option then that’s just sad. That’s worse than when we brought Louis Saha, who was actually a good player.

We already made a signing like that in the recent past with Gedson, as usual Levy never learns. Adding a pair of legs is pointless if those legs can’t do what the manager wants. Why bring a midfielder who doesn’t do anything when we already have three of those?

Any midfielder who arrives has to be better than Lo Celso and Dele. At least a player like Paredes actually has some qualities that could help the team.

Genuinely asking, this isn't a troll, but what are the other reasons?

I think most in the #levyout camp are there because of the underinvestment in the playing squad and it would be quelled somewhat if he spent.

Interested what else people hold against him.
The way he negotiates has led to countless cases of other clubs claiming that he backtrades on deals, this is where apologists step in and say it is the other club that move the goal posts , Lol

A video that was only mildly less embarrassing than Prince Andrew’s trying to justify his decisions

A stadium that ran late and massively over budget, the area where he is meant to be an expert

Players and managers with whom he has reportedly been disingenuous, there are too many for it not to be true, at least in my opinion

Overseeing the dramatic collapse in the clubs on field performance. I will give him credit for an improvement also, but if you credit him for that , he has to be responsible for blowing it

1 Trophy in 21 years

A reportedly horrible working environment for non playing staff, marketing , box office etc. I forget which newspaper ran the story but they named a number of people who quit because of the toxic environment.

When lockdown allowed fans back Spurs charged double other clubs for tickets for the return to stadiums match against Villa

Claiming furlough , Liverpool also tried this ( both were shamed into dropping it, deservedly so )

Signing up to the Super League , 5 other guilty parties here ( all six shamed into dropping it)

Admittedly the above is only my opinion

I see where are up to our old tricks again.

Wait until as late in the window as possible, try and sign players, not giving the selling team time to replace the player they are selling so they tell us to fuck off, or they add an extra £5-10m on the price.

Works every year... :lucasl:
