I don’t think he would get regular game time at any PL team, he is just not ready.
Half a season in Spain which is a level he can handle would be better then he can come back and be put through Conte’s brutal preseason.
I don't rate GLC and wish we never bought him, I just assume his general market value is superior to Amrabat's who I doubt would make it into the Argentina national team if that were his nationality.

Because for whatever bizarre reason we will sell players to other top 6 teams but under no circumstances will they EVER sell to us. Van de Beek would be a class signing although I’ve got a guilty pleasure watching him rot on the bench at United after he turned Spurs down.
I actually think he's a decent player when fit and played in his best position. But he's so rarely had either going for him.
And I just don't think he's suited to PL football...unless he went to a City or Liverpool, where he'd have a proper world class structure around him.
But I still think he's the type that will mostly excel at B-list teams in Spain like Real Betis

I know how you feel mate. I’m originally from North London. I’ve spent a lot of time living away from the UK, first in the US and now Germany. These forums make the match experience for me, as my visits back to the UK aren’t as frequent as I would like! Even when I was travelling in Thailand a few years ago, I was in a bar with some English fans (not Spurs), and had the forums open to see what real fans had to say.

When have utd ever cared about selling to rivals? Especially a player that sits on the bench. Do Utd see Spurs as rivals? I dont think their ego would ever allow it.
Liverpool had an eye on him since last summer, so their interest did not just happen overnight.
And it was known that Spurs had met the asking price of Porto. I know that Levy likes to drag his feet but in this case Spurs acted "fast" to be Spurs.
So how did Liverpool know about the negotiations you think? By chance? No, a football agent does what a football agent does best: go where he gets the best deal. In this case, "leaking" info to Liverpool. In the end, it was down to Diaz and his agent, and both saw Liverpool as a better option. They played Spurs.
Is that a surprise?
Diaz gets to challenge for League & CL titles for the same pay he'd gotten at Spurs. Plus, his commercial value is higher at Liverpool (if he gets into the starting XI) = more money for his agent.

Why would we send him to the championship when he can play for Valencia? Arguably the 3rd biggest club in spain and one of the biggest in europe?
He has already played in Spain, he will learn nothing. He needs to learn to play in a more physical league, even the Championship would be more appropriate. It’s crazy.
If we’re being real, of the 4 signings in summer 2019 he probably gave us the best performances. Low bar but still

We are reaching panic buy territory. Levy has failed with all the first choice signings Conte did want. Now we go lower and lower down the list that Conte will accept rather than want. We will see a Sissoko type purchase very soon where we pay through the nose for someone below average because the worst chairman in the league fucked up deals for the better players.
The problem is, spending 30 mil on a player who's worth half that. Then being 15 mil short to sign someone else that'd make a real difference to our squad
