Transfers January 2023 Transfer Thread. The Big One

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Its because our core business is no longer football. We have more profitable things to worry about. We had been one of the most profitable clubs since COVID. We have the most expensive seats, food and apparel. The reason, We have one thing other clubs don't have, "Daniel Levy".

And for all those who want to rant at my statement, here is my proof. NB: 'Tottenham is the only club to have .......'

We can't buy players because we have to save for the new high rise apartments
They are disgusting TBF, take 10 stories off each and they would sit in the skyline much better for all the surround buildings.

Also, Zest point, if you live over 5 stories statistically you are much more prone to needing psychological support (ie. Generally it’s bad for mental health, living higher off the ground).

You can add Sanchez, Sessegnon and Regiulon to this and you have £200m of fucked transfer budget. All of which appear unsellable.

Compounding factor as to why we are doubly fucked with recruitment. The players we spent big money on just a few years back need replacing themselves, on top of the tosh that's still here.

But quite a lot of fans seem to think we have't spent enough, the truth is we have but not spent wisely, it's better now that Paratici is here. Not sure what's happening with Porro though.

I think most fans believe not enough is given to the managers to spend. They aren't backed by Levy and The Board to spend on players.

This is 💯 percent true. Levy backs himself more to make the correct decision. Mostly he gets it horribly wrong.

Conté Transfers In, Levy and ENIC Out.

Hahaha no fucking way, another 5 million difference

KMJ joined Fenebache: Aug 21
Jose sacked: April 21

I call bullshit.

What was reported a year before however is that (in 2020 - Jose's one and only summer here!) Spurs tried to sign him for 13m, but his club in China wanted to add another 10m cos it was an EPL team. Suddeny 23m is a big risk on a player from that league........

We pay fees that look big from the outside. But we don't pay much up front, a lot of the fee is bonuses that pay for themselves if they're achieved, and the wages are lower because the players are generally (from and should be at) mid table shit.

What a wonderful club woolwich are.

Brighton, one of the highlights of a dull premier league season, and coincidentally 2 of their best players get disrupted and end up there.

It’s nothing new but it feels like football has a massively accelerating problem. The financial gulf between the PL compared to other leagues, and even within it, is rapidly widening and it’s just not sustainable. Its crazy how quickly teams can destabilize and push down other clubs.

It has nothing to do with our spend, or lack thereof, but more about how the lack of any real financial controls is just destroying other teams and leagues more and more.

But they wasted about £100m on Ndombele and GLC and should have got better players for the same spend.

Good player, with Partey injured, hopefully Brighton lead them on then keep him until the summer.
They can replace him though.
If you offered me Pape Sarr or Caciedo for the next 7 years, I'd take Pape because his ceiling as a footballer is so much higher and he has that ability to be where he needs to be defensively. Longer strides to cover ground as well. Caciedo is ahead because he's already so fucking strong physiucally he wins duels at prem level. Sarr will get there.
Sure we could debate who’s going to be better. But we spent basically nothing on Sarr.

Girl Why Dont We Have Both GIF

I guess that’s rhetorical because we know damn well why we can’t. :levystare:

9th richest club on the planet, with enormous revenue increases on match days, CL football, a world class manager, magnificent facilities. Yet we can’t attract top prospects or players for some weird reason. What a mystery.

What is the motive for lying and who do you think is lying?

Jose or Romano?
I’ve no idea who is lying, if anyone, but as Airfixx Airfixx has pointed out, Mourinho was sacked four months before Kim moved to Fener. So unless he’s a time traveller, someone is bullshitting or wrong.. Or he may simply have his teams wrong and meant to say Beijing not Fener.

Lots of money laundering going around.

Reminds me of real estate in Miami. Average income in the city is very low, but real estate is pricey in part because it is a haven for money laundering.
