Tbh, I don't recall. I know we wanted a top RB (of any kind) but got Spence.

Makes me crack up every time I see a Conte hater blame him for Son.
Son, who got 23 goals and bags of assists the season before. Under Conte.

If Conte and Mourinho got the players they wanted, we'd have won stuff. It's really simple as that. What they got, was players "like" the players they wanted.
The main difference (it seems) between them and Ange, is that the former 2 hated that and likely lost all interest in the job from there on.

People can yap on about "oh but Ange has final say on it" but let's see how that works in a years time after 3 windows.
Mourinho thought Tanganga was better than Foyth. Why didn’t he see the “winner” in Foyth?

It’s definitely true that Conte didn’t get what he asked for which was always going to end in disaster. He asked for Bastoni and Levy gave him Lenglet. A manager like Conte was never going to swallow that.

Ange seems to be (like most modern managers) more willing to work with players who aren’t his ideal choice.

We excuse Conte too much for this, he wanted Lenglet when he was at Inter so it's not as if it was totally against his wishes, it's his fault for being totally inflexible with his targets.

That's why it was a bad hire, I don't know any other club in this modern day who would simply go out and get their coaches no1 target unless they're PSG or Utd or someone like that who can just throw silly cash at a player, not even City do that.

I guess football moved on quickly from his era.

Saturday’s edition of Gazzetta dello Sport wasn’t very positive on Tottenham Hotspur’s swoop for Radu Dragusin.

It was explained that Spurs didn’t want to overspend on the 21-year-old because he would be seen as a squad player rather than a nailed-on starter for Ange Postecoglou’s side.

With Genoa trying to edge the transfer fee closer to €30m, and attempts even made to go above that, Gazzetta said Tottenham wouldn’t do anything ‘crazy’ and their offer was ‘unlikely to exceed €18-20m’.

Sunday’s edition of the same newspaper reports the Premier League club are ‘ready to offer’ €20m, but will need to raise that because Genoa want more.

Over at Corriere dello Sport they have things differently.

In their Sunday edition, it’s claimed ‘Tottenham present the offer’, and the amount is put at €26.6m.

Corriere dello Sport go further and say The indecent offer has arrived’ from Spurs, who are ‘taking things seriously’. They put that at £23m/€26.6m.

Interestingly, the report states the offer has arrived through ‘lateral channels’, so intermediaries, and is ‘waiting to officially proceed’.

Napoli remain in the picture, but it’s thought that Tottenham simply have more financial power and if they push through and use that then the competition is over.

Can't understand how people are actually accepting Werner as a trade off to what we should be getting. Leipzig is putting him out on loan, Leipzig! That should tell you something.

We are accepting mediocre, "Get out jail free Cards".

Given Excellent 3 players,

1) A CDM that can run with the ball and pass accurately (eg. Matteo Guendouzi)

2) A STR that can hold up the ball and play a No 10 role if need be (eg. Ivan Toney)

3) A CB, left footed, that can cover our LB (eg Nathan Ake)

We could be challenging for the league. Take the Kane 100 million add a few Kwid and we could league title contenders. Instead we are Haggling over 5 million.

Another Levy Masterclass and Some Fans seems to be excited. They complain about Richie, who has scored 5 in his last six but they can't wait for Timo Werner who 4 years back was a sensation in Germany and total flop thereafter. Levy is seeing STR for loan and possibly 14 million option to buy pricetag.

We sold Kane. Took his money and invested It in our property. Now we are lay-buying Timo Werner who couldnt even make a Leipzig starting eleven.

So much for being 6 points off the top and trying to actually win the League.
This went down well.......🤣

You seem utterly obsessed with the man. You just can't stop mentioning him :disdain:
