Transfers January Transfer Thread 2024

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I don;t think you even need to read that far into it, I'm certain he and his agent aren't playing hard to get and pretending he doesn't want the move in order to squeeze some extra pennies out of us, it's probably more a case of being a pro and towing the party line until a deal is agreed and just saying "he's a Genoa player and will continue to be a Genoa player... (until he's not)".

Which has lost something in translation and turned into he's never leaving Genoa.
Yes, especially after his agent said a few days ago that Radu is ambitious, always looking to further his career, dreaming of the PL...and that money isn't an obsession to him.

Unless we or Genoa start fucking about, moving the goal posts etc, he's ours. Ideally he'd already be ours, but as long as it gets done pre-Utd...

Tottenham appear to be closing in on their first signing of the January transfer window.

Indeed, Radu Dragusin looks like he’s closing in on becoming a new Tottenham player.

Tottenham and Genoa are locked in negotiations over this move, with the Italian club reportedly looking for €30m (£25m), while personal terms between all parties are already agreed.

Speaking on Kick, Fabrizio Romano has now shared some details on Dragusin’s agreement with Tottenham, and he says that the defender has agreed a long-term contract with Spurs that would see him receive the same salary as Guglielmo Vicario if he does join.

“I keep receiving messages of optimism on this deal, but what is going on? Tottenham have an agreement with the player, they have agreed personal terms with Dragusin, it will be a long-term contract and the salary will be similar to the one for Guglielmo Vicario but Tottenham and Genoa are locked in negotiations. They received a verbal proposal from Tottenham, not an official proposal at around €22-23m but Genoa are starting at €35m but would close the deal at €30m,” Romano said.

Matter of time
It would appear that it’s just a matter of time before this deal gets done.

As Romano says, there are constant messages of optimism surrounding this deal, and it looks like with each passing hour we’re getting closer to an announcement.

Some sources reckon that this one could be all wrapped up by Friday, and that will be a huge relief to Spurs as they continue to struggle with an injury crisis at centre-back.

Dragusin will be a welcomed addition to this squad, and with Spurs already agreeing a contract with the player, it may not be long before we see him wearing a white shirt.

The only ITK (JJetset) on Spurscommunity that hears anything has finally spoken up and it won't be a suprise to anyone that he did not say anything apart from that it looks like a promosing window so far.

This is always my problem with ITK's the ones in the actual know, keep their mouth shut.

Based on what science?
They had months off. If anything, it's harder to have that time off and then get back to full fitness for the season.
Most of these guys still play international football so end up only getting 3 weeks off. To play around 40 games a season for a lot of them and to be training 5/6 days a week and double sessions in some of those days too will take its toll.
These guys will tick over the summer too and not just sit on their arses doing nothing. Back in the day players would get 6 weeks off and yes you’d come back not in tip top shape but pres season fixed that. There was an awful lot less muscle injuries back then too.

Promising for who though?

For Mr Levy, in that he won't have to put his hands in his pocket?

:harrylol:

That might well be due to his contract, no? I mean, he must have been racking up 3,000 minutes per season until now

Edit: just checked, just over 10,000 minutes since he joined Fulham, 3 1/2 years +/-
Think he was injured this season which is why he hasn't played much.

I don't even think he is ITK. Has 100% got more wrong over the years than right, and even a trained monkey can get it right eventually due to law of averages.

Sounds to me like the club training is what causes problems rather than length of the summer break.
I'd also throw in the pathetic TV schedule that has games too close together, or late at night knocking onto a poor training schedule the next day.
