I thought the plan was always to get him back to Split as soon as possible, the injury just threatened that. It’s his hometown club that he came up with as a kid and they’ve got a real chance to win the league for the first time in about 20 years.
That might flush Liverpool out as they have been heavily linked in the past.
Hopefully distracts them from Nusa if they have an interest.

Tottenham Hotspur want to sign midfielder Adam Wharton from Blackburn Rovers in the January transfer window.
The report has claimed that Spurs could “look to strike an early deal” for the 19-year-old midfielder, who could cost £19 million.
In my opinion, if Tottenham Hotspur do sign Adam Wharton in the January transfer window, then they should just let the midfielder stay at Blackburn Rovers until the summer of 2024.
I think that it would be best for Wharton if he returned to Blackburn on loan for the rest of the season after signing for Tottenham.
The midfielder is playing well for Blackburn at the moment, and I think that it would be better for his development if he finished the rest of the season at Rovers.
Wharton has made 21 starts and four substitute appearances in the Championship for Blackburn this season. He has scored one goal and given three assists in those games.

Ah ok that break down is easier to read. So in theory Gil could still go out on a loan to buy but after that no more. So either PEH or Gil would need to be instantly permanent if both were to move on this winter.
Who would everyone prefer us to buy out of Gallagher, Henderson or Phillips? My preference would be Phillips. I always thought he was better for England than Rice. Although that’s not saying much!
Both Dier and Perisic have been announced as a loan, but we all know they are not coming back.
I'm guessing the deals are structured as a loan for good reasons (eg safeguard player salaries) but I do wonder if Spurs will have been clever with the contract wording so as to exclude them from the category of 'loan' for which the maximum number is 7 ....... unless we are confident we will be well inside that limit.
