Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I think we will see one or two further incomings in the next 10 days.

No way we won't spend our way out of this quagmire.

Striker soon.

Guess it's tricky, we have 3 centre backs who are all due back roughly at the same time at the end of this month.

We probably don't want 5cb not including Phillips and Vuskovic

I can imagine the club will just continue on with gray and radu with just a new lb coming in
Drag, not good enough.
Davies, on his last legs.

We should definitely be targeting a CB that is an upgrade on those two. That's before we even mention perma crocks Romero and VDV.

There is plenty of room here and we need to finally show a ruthless streak.

Kolo-Muani’s always confused me as a player so I can’t really decide if he’s a good idea. At the moment we desperately need more physicality in the side, but do feel uneasy about the amount of people saying his technique and finishing is patchy but he can run hard and compete. Sounds a bit like a forward version of Sissoko that we’d all be bitching about before long.

The lad can play but I don’t want him. Although he walks into our first team.

He’s a bringer of chaos and sometimes that is really good…. He looks like he’s going to mess something up and then before you know it he’s beaten 3 players and made 40 yards….he can finish when he’s in the mood… he’s quick and skilful…some days he’s world class.

Other days he’s just a shit Dembele.

And I never feel in the big games that he’s going to make a difference.

Maybe I can’t get over the pain of that save by Martinez.
Cool but we're currently starting Johnson and Werner so yeah, let's get him.

(Not that I think there's an ounce of truth in this rumour).

VDV and Romero is an issue. Maybe Ange’s style does put extra pressure on the hamstrings but VDV had a big hamstring injury at his prior club and Romero is always on and off injured. Even if Ange leaves I can’t trust them two to be fit for any length of time. As a club we need to be prepared for it. Romero will probably be gone in the summer as well so it’s.

Porro Dragusin VDV Udogie
Spence Vuskovic New Signing New Signing

This window I think one LCB should be enough then get a left back in the summer.

He’s much much less frustrating than Sissoko

So we have scored a lot of goals. Do you not think a lot of that is down to how we play? I doubt we would even be much more than half of that if Jose was manager, it’s a hyper attacking system where the midfield and defence are involved heavily in scoring goals not just the attack.

The issue with the quality of our forwards is that so few of them are good in general play. Solanke is great, can pass, hold up the ball and press. Johnson, Werner are generally weak and Son is in decline. That affects how we press, how we retain possession, how we break down teams. Our first line of defence is our attack and our ability to retain possession prevents counter attacks. The balance of our forward line is poor. It’s not good enough.
Well Ange to Mourinho is night and day. One thinks you have to score 5 goals to win a match, the other thinks 1 is good enough.

We conceded 63 goals the season before Ange arrived, 61 last season, and 60 this season.

It definitely has to do with how we play, but it's got much more to do with our weak midfield (the common link between pre-Ange and Ange) than it does our attack.

Posted this yesterday in the "who replaces Ange" thread:

For my 2 cents, this is some of the strongest evidence supporting hiring Iraola. Formationally and defensively they do many of the same things we do, but they do them better and more structured. He also knows how to get the best out of Solanke.

Our line isn't even as high as people assume it is. But we've very slow to recover. This is because there's basically zero organization to our defence behind our attack. Our midfield is all pushed up, and seemingly with no communication. When Porro or Spence go forward, no one is covering them.

Yes Johnson needs to do a better job tracking back. But when your wing forward isn't tracking back into the defensive 1/3rd, it's less of an individual error/effort issue than a tactical issue. Any system that requires that much defending from your attackers is just completely broken.

Ange has created a system that literally anyone with eyes can tell requires a very talented DM. And he's deployed this despite not having a DM in the squad and without making any visible effort to get a DM.

TL;DR: The issue isn't the attack. It's the imbalanced midfield and the lack of cohesive strategy and communication in the back line.
