Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lange needs to fall on his sword this summer. Levy and Ange are getting all the heat while he giggles in the shadows

Someone who gets paid so much should've done a flake of research and seen Ange's high intensity football brings about alot of injuries and alot of fatigue.
It did at Celtic, at it did here in his first season with all the injuries we suffered.

So what was with that limp summer window, how was that gonna improve the situation, and then you have this joke of a window .

Fall on your sword mate, out of his depth
Reading this and it's just occurred to me that you can portmanteau Levy and Ange into Lange...

The worrying thing about this is there's every chance thatwas a key factor in our hiring process, because actual footballing reasons certainly weren't high on the fucking agenda!

The board don't care. They will not panic spend in this window to have a better shot at the league cup or to maybe finish 12th instead of 15th. They are now looking at this season as essentially dead and their efforts will be directed at frantically working out who comes in for the summer and planning to spend then, on players the new manager will have a chance to get the final nod on. ENIC aren't going to lift a finger to help out this coach.

Hitchens was a nob but he was right that january is a hard window to do good business in. City have managed it by spending massive money. Its a window nobody wants to sell in, sometimes an opportunity arises but that's it. Anything now will be some panic button hit, not players thoroughly scouted and selected by the DoF. They'll at best be the 4th or 5th choices who we overpay for. Worth it if you're pushing over the line for top four to ENIC, but not for this.
Not about helping the coach tho. It's about helping the squad. Those players are assets and they need their value to be protected. Their inaction already caused Solanke to be overworked and even if Romero, VDV, Odobert, and Udogie come back in the next couple of weeks, there is still a risk that just as many break down from getting overplayed before they come back.

It makes business sense to at least bring a couple of loan players in.

It's insane, given the fact we are still in with a shot of Champs League qualification via Europa that issues with the squad haven't been addressed.

Bissouma, Bentencuar, Sarr are all not good enough in midfield. We knew this before the season started and ditched an experienced Holberg for Bergvall - who had played 12 senior games in his career in some tin pot league.

The team we played yesterday should have won. The starting 11 should have easily been good enough to beat Leicester, but once again our midfield cannot tackle, cannot cut out passing lanes, and cannot pass.

I didn’t expect to see people pining for Hojbjerg this season.

We really are on a strange timeline

Lange hasn't covered himself in glory so far has he?

That is the part that I can't understand. What the manager needs most is enough fit players to see if he can stabilize things. They don't have to all be 18 year old prospects. It seems they don't want to fire Postecoglou and, at the same time, they haven't thrown him a lifeline.

Honestly, what the fuck are they playing at?

What kind of fucking team is Ange going to pick on Thursday now?

And then Brentford?

Richy is almost certainly injured now. Sarr? Who knows…

This isn't doing much for your Iarola would drop his nickers at the mere sight of Tottenham argument is it.

15 players missing and not one outfield player signed but we're all so sure that he would jump at the chance to takeover a club like ours in crisis right now

There's absolutely no chance of any decent coach wanting to take over right now.
We have a chairman who is more interested in growing the commercial side of the business than running a football team. A recruitment team that are either incompetent or heavily shackled; and a completely disenfranchised fan base that are sick of the club never winning anything.
This talk of managers loving coming to our big club is rubbish too. Why are we a big club? Because we're so rich? We're a laughing stock. Constantly labelled as Spursy and Dr Tottenham, our biggest rivals celebrate St Totteringham day every year. The media constantly ridicule us.
The whole club is broken, and that is not an appealing prospect for any decent manager.

Monday after a loss like that you expect to see either Ange sacked or furious amounts of transfer rumours.

What's the betting we see neither?

Ange post game press conference he said club working hard again but also, even just one player coming in would lift the squad.

The board clearly don't want to lift the squad at this point. They have seen the years that Son gave this club and decided, "nah fuck Son, our ego's are what matters, we are closed for business".
I just feel it's inevitable Ange will go. So Levy is not going to spend on players the next manager may not want. Levy is waiting for some stupid weird clause to get triggered that can save him some money when he fires Ange. Like how he did for Mourinho. Else I just couldn't wrap my head around any other possibilities why nothing has moved. Because when Levy wanna go things, he can make things move very fast. And I meant very fast.

If Levy really wanted Ange to stay, we’d have had players through the door weeks ago.

He either doesn’t care and isn’t that afraid of relegation or he’s hoping the fans turn so he doesn’t have to be even more unpopular for the decision.

His problem now is that the worse it gets, the more people are blaming him. He’s going to have to make a decision soon. Passive isn’t going to cut it this time. If you pay yourself £7m a year unfortunately the buck still stops with you.

To those who think signing Rashford on loan would lift the spirit of Spurs right now...

Amorim fires extraordinary blast at Rashford and says he’d rather put 63-YEAR-OLD coach on Man Utd bench ahead of him

Three clubs are circling to sign the Carrington academy product before the transfer window closes

RUBEN AMORIM launched a scathing attack on Marcus Rashford by claiming he would rather name his goalkeeping coach as a Manchester United sub.

Rashford was again left out of Amorim’s squad for last night’s win at Fulham, courtesy of Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike.

The boss blasted Rashford’s lack of effort in training and said 63- year-old Jorge Vital would be more deserving of a place on the bench.

Asked directly about Rashford's absence, Amorim said: “I’d put Vital on the bench before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day. I’ll not change in that department.

“It’s always the same reason. The reason is the training. The way that I see what a footballer should do in training, in life, every day. If things don’t change, I will not change.

“Same situation for every player — if you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player.

“You can see it today on the bench. We needed pace to change the game, to move some pieces — but I prefer it like that.”

Rashford has been a loan target for Borussia Dortmund, Monaco and AC Milan, although he would prefer a move to cash-strapped Barcelona.

He has not played for Amorim since a 2-1 win at Viktoria Plzen on December 12 and has not been in a squad since a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on December 30.

Rashford posted on Instagram after Sunday's win, saying: "Congratulations on the win lads."

I don't think we have any squad places available to sign players...especially foreign ones. Since we only have 3 club trained players, we lose 1 space. So 24 man squad.

Ditching club trained players doesn't give us another spot.

1 Austin, Brandon Anthony**
2 Bentancur, Rodrigo
3 Bissouma, Yves
4 Davies, Benjamin Thomas*
5 De Andrade, Richarlison
6 Dragusin, Radu-Matei
7 Forster, Fraser Gerard*
8 Heung-Min, Son
9 Johnson, Brennan Price*
10 Kulusevski, Dejan
11 Maddison, James*
12 Porro Sauceda, Pedro Antonio
13 Reguilon Rodriguez, Sergio
14 Robson, Max**
15 Romero, Cristian Gabriel
16 Sarr, Pape Matar
17 Solanke-Mitchell, Dominic Ayodele*
18 Spence, Diop Djed*
19 Udogie, Iyenoma Destiny
20 Van De Ven, Micky
21 Vicario, Guglielmo
22 Werner, Timo
23 Whiteman, Alfie Malik**
24 Kinsy

And Bissouma was on the bench? Its his own fault. If Sarr is not fit, he could of played Regulion at left back and put Gray in midfield. His stubborness is driving me nuts.
Any of the kids would have been better than Sarr was yesterday. He gave the ball away in our half 4 times in the first 10 minutes alone! Olusesi should have started if Sarr and Bissouma were not fit. Or played Yang on the right and Kulu in CM. The fact Ange keeps putting Son at CF instead of Lankshear is criminal as Son is truly awful as a central striker in this system against a low block. I have been a really ardent supported of Ange, but he is really not helping himself at all, and can have no complaints if he gets fired now.

You’d turn down a job that was triple your salary for 4 years guaranteed? Because it was a mess at the company?

Especially knowing that it wouldn’t really harm your reputation if it didn’t work out?

Give me a break. Reality is right there if you just face it.
