Transfers January Transfer Thread 24/25

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

They won't win a title for a while unless all the stars align.

But since he left (2013/2014)
2 x FA Cups
2 x League Cups
1 x Uefa Cup

5 trophies.
We have won none.
Let's not even go back to the time between our 08 league cup and their post Fergie era beginning.
(3 titles, a champions league, 2 league cups)

As fun as it's been to see them usurped as Englands dominant force. They still win things that matter regularly compared to probably 15 other PL teams.
I was reffering to their fans, who obviously can't handle it

God no.
They still come out with shit like "so what do you think about Kane going to Man United then"
Those fucking self entitled twats still think they're THE force in football and whoever they want will sign for them.
Fergie is gone.
City and Chelsea have a fuck ton of money now.
Even small sides are richer than ever due to TV money deals.
PSR catches up with most teams and levels things out.

But still those mugs think they're the biggest team now.

If they just showed some level of humility. Understand they're no longer going to be challenging for things. That players aren't drawn to them in the way they were 20 years ago. Anything.

But no.

Still walk into title conversations and transfer talks like this prick

I guess I'm lucky, my mates who support United are actually really nice guys.

A proven winner at international level yes actuallystarting the games that win trophies, proven crock at club level, if we get anything above what we paid for him we should take it
Only won the World Cup cause Messi got a pen a game...oh and cause Qatar had picked the winner before a ball was even kicked.

Romero ain't a truly elite operator.

Real gives us 50mil, I'm taking the cunt to the airport meself.

Tel is a striker.

He can play all 3 but general consensus is that he ends up a #9
I think this is the profile of what we as a club have looked for going back to Harry Kane's time. 1 out and out #9, and then just a shed load of RW/LW/AMs with a couple capable of occasionally filling the CF role as well.

I think its indicative of the state of football. With so many teams fielding a single CF now, there's fewer around and the ones who are quality aren't very likely to join a club where they're not clearly going to be in the lineup.

Probably why he was hesitant to join in the first place, and why he won't accept a permanent deal. Doesn't fancy being behind Solanke.

We aren't though, are we?

We didn't score a shit load of goals against Woolwich, Newcastle, Palace, Ipswich, Leicester, Bournemouth, Forest or Fulham,
If you count Newcastle, Arse and Leicester twice that's 11 games where we've scored 1 or less and lost most of them.

Bags of goals in some games. Even some of those are irrelevant. 5-1 down against Liverpool before adding 2 more. 3-0 down against Everton before adding 2. 4-2 down against Chelsea, 2 came from a clown tripping over his clown shoes and the 3rd came in injury time when it should have been worse than 4-2

Our goals scored column is bizarre. A lot of goals in some games, fuck all in others.
Look at Liverpool instead. 8 more than us, but far more steadily spread over 23 games.
Only two teams have scored more goals than us this season, LiVARpool and Woolwich. The #1 and #2 in the table.

Yeah it’s a strange one. The days of a settled front 3 seem to be over now. I don’t think there is a team in the PL with a front 3 you can expect to see every week.

With Tel I think he really wants to make it at Bayern still and thinks playing here gives him a platform to prove it. But if he does prove it and they just buy Gittens and Wirtz anyway, he could end up here long term.

Can we just close the window before we do something really fucking stupid?

TBF, we have, at most, 7 EL fixtures, 5 FA Cup fixtures, and 2 LC fixtures remaining.

We have 14 PL fixtures remaining.

Signing a player who can only play in the PL, particularly when our most meaningful matches will all be in the cups, isn't necessarily as stupid as it's being made out to be. He's still eligible for at least half of our matches, and it simplifies the rotation/priority debate. He plays in the league, and provides rest for others to prioritise the cups.

We actually have a great squad when everyone is fit. If that ever happens! Tel wouldn't even be a certain starter

Team A:
Vicario
Gray Romero VDV Udogie
Kulusevski Bentancur Maddison
Tel Solanke Son

Team B:
Kinksy
Porro Danso Davies Spence
Bergval Bissouma Sarr
Johnson Richarlison Odobert

That doesn't even include Dragusin, Moore, Werner and any other potential signings! I don't know if we'll ever get everyone fit again... This season has been insane. I've never seen anything like it. But imagine if we did have this squad available come April and we were still in the Europa league! We'd have some chance
