To those who think signing Rashford on loan would lift the spirit of Spurs right now...

Amorim fires extraordinary blast at Rashford and says he’d rather put 63-YEAR-OLD coach on Man Utd bench ahead of him

Three clubs are circling to sign the Carrington academy product before the transfer window closes

RUBEN AMORIM launched a scathing attack on Marcus Rashford by claiming he would rather name his goalkeeping coach as a Manchester United sub.

Rashford was again left out of Amorim’s squad for last night’s win at Fulham, courtesy of Lisandro Martinez’s deflected strike.

The boss blasted Rashford’s lack of effort in training and said 63- year-old Jorge Vital would be more deserving of a place on the bench.

Asked directly about Rashford's absence, Amorim said: “I’d put Vital on the bench before a player who doesn’t give the maximum every day. I’ll not change in that department.

“It’s always the same reason. The reason is the training. The way that I see what a footballer should do in training, in life, every day. If things don’t change, I will not change.

“Same situation for every player — if you do the maximum, if you do the right things, we can use every player.

“You can see it today on the bench. We needed pace to change the game, to move some pieces — but I prefer it like that.”

Rashford has been a loan target for Borussia Dortmund, Monaco and AC Milan, although he would prefer a move to cash-strapped Barcelona.

He has not played for Amorim since a 2-1 win at Viktoria Plzen on December 12 and has not been in a squad since a 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on December 30.

Rashford posted on Instagram after Sunday's win, saying: "Congratulations on the win lads."

Amorim tearing into Rashford absolutely just did a huge favour to whichever club Rashford ends up at. His motivation will go through the roof.

Probably temporarily but if it’s us for a 6 month loan I wouldn’t care

I don't think we have any squad places available to sign players...especially foreign ones. Since we only have 3 club trained players, we lose 1 space. So 24 man squad.

Ditching club trained players doesn't give us another spot.

1 Austin, Brandon Anthony**
2 Bentancur, Rodrigo

10 Kulusevski, Dejan
11 Maddison, James*
12 Porro Sauceda, Pedro Antonio
13 Reguilon Rodriguez, Sergio

23 Whiteman, Alfie Malik**
24 Kinsy
I would de-register Werner even if we cannot cancel his loan. We also do not need 4 GKs so I'd de-register Forster. That frees up 2 senior spaces, and both could go to foreign players. I'd also de-register Reggy, especially if it meant we could sign a new LB like Dorgu (even though both VDV, Davies and Gray can all play there in an emergency). The club just need to make some big decisions to improve us on the pitch.

There's absolutely no chance of any decent coach wanting to take over right now.
We have a chairman who is more interested in growing the commercial side of the business than running a football team. A recruitment team that are either incompetent or heavily shackled; and a completely disenfranchised fan base that are sick of the club never winning anything.
This talk of managers loving coming to our big club is rubbish too. Why are we a big club? Because we're so rich? We're a laughing stock. Constantly labelled as Spursy and Dr Tottenham, our biggest rivals celebrate St Totteringham day every year. The media constantly ridicule us.
The whole club is broken, and that is not an appealing prospect for any decent manager.

More than obvious, some people too stubborn to admit it though.

it's isn't obvious at all.

We were "Dr tottenham" and "never win fuck all" prior to us bringing in Mourinho and Conte. You think high flying Bournemouth or Brighton or even Villa would be able to attract that calibre of manager?

You pay these managers enough and they'll come. if anything they come now with it being as bad as it possibly can be so very little pressure.

It doesn't really matter now anyway as literally any manager (including Mason) would get more out of our players then Ange has. if we survive then it becomes an attractive option for a manager again. We have the nucleus of a good squad.

- Once in a lifetime opportunity
- One of the biggest clubs in the world
- Not threatened by relegation
- Club backed their last manager heavily

Now work out the same for us.

They were below us when he started

How is that dysfunctional mess once in a lifetime? They aren’t winning the PL anytime soon and TH already won both cups. Not like he’s starting at the bottom even.

They aren’t backing him so far are they?

Yes in November 10 matches ago, it's now January.

Utd are Utd, Spurs are Spurs there's an absolute chasm of history prestige and success between the clubs.

They aren't backing him so far because they're in PSR trouble...they obviously will do when their finances are sorted.

Bit in bold ???

You don't make sense, how can this job be so little pressure when we're in the midst of a relegation fight?

🚨 Breaking man changes mind
yeh you "change your mind" because it suits the position you have currently taken.

Maybe in future don't try and ridicule other posters for having that opinion. It's cool to not share the same opinion but you were literally 'lol'ing' and haha'ing' literally telling people that they were defeatists and had a weak mentality for thinking it was a possibility. Now you share the same opinion.
