For example: to the tune of 'Robin Hood'

La-me-la La-me-la running down the wing

LA-ME-LA, LA-ME-LA, LA-ME-LA

This will be more like

Bought for 15 mil, now worth 50k
Rodriguez, Rodriguez,Rodriguez.....

Am I the only person, who suffers from a complete inability to imagine what these songs are supposed to sound like? When I read it, it just sounds like a really shit poem. (The latest one in the Eriksen thread being another case in point).

Very sceptical. It's ofte not a succesful when a manager who have taken a step to a bigger club brings along players. And if last years Soton squad was so good that the players will improve the first eleven of all the teams above them, Pochettino must have done a bad Job there. I don't think the latter is the case, I think the players are overestimated.

Neither Schneider's nor Rodriguez' YouTube video has impressed me. Not the players that will help us push for fourth.

Jay Rodriguez scored more goals that Adebayor last season.

More that Eriksen and Soldado combined...

He finished 8th top scorer in the league with only one midfielder ahead of him (Yaya).

He scored more that Van Persie as well as the raved about Hazard and Ramsey.

I say bring him in.

Rodriguez is a very talented player. It's a gamble, but right now might be the best chance to get him. We don't need to rush him as we have enough cover in attacking midfield!

By way of SC:

From Saints web:

To be fair, Jay has fully recovered from his knee injury and was on course to return within 6-8 weeks - well ahead of schedule. He's been working building his strength and muscle around his knee. The knee injury it's self has gone.....so it's not like they're signing a crocked player, they're signing a player who isn't fully fit as yet. I just hope we haven't agreed to let him go at a knock down price for this. Should be £20m and no less.

I will miss Jay, regulars on here will know how much I wanted that signing to happen back in the day. Utter class act of a player who stepped up a level last year.

Poorly written description of the situation, but I do hope it's true nonetheless. Does give it a bit more of a positive light, even for those already particularly excited about this transfer.

My guess is the initial fee would be cheap, and Levy has included add-ons per Jay's success as he recovers.

Yeah my lady first noticed him while I was watching a game, and at a later point someone posted this pic when I was scrolling through here and she just took the computer and left for 30 minutes or so. I honestly have no clue what she was doing, but when she got back that tab was on Pinterest or some shit.

J rod is a gamble because of the injury. But he also is exactly what we need. He and Schneiderlin both. Determined, hard working, just as important as ability. We have a few players with ability already but lacking the other attributes. Maybe Poch can draw that out of the others too, but bringing in two with that already new in from his old club will help our team get up to speed quicker and make the most of this coming season. As long as we don't pay too much for J rod, I'm all up for it.

His Birthday is tomorrow (or today depending on where you are).

Will he get a gift from Levy?

Levy will deliberately wait to sign him until the end of week. You just know he was the one who used to break up with his Mrs. a week before her birthday and then get back together with her a week after. Probably did the same for Valentines Day and Hanukkah.:levywtf:

Rodriguez played out on the left for Southampton and that is our weakest position, so I can see why Poch would like to sign him as he did do very well and has proven himself in the league.

Ha uh, the fact he has a very serious injury with a poor track record of return to form, won't even return to training until October, and the fact he scored those goals playing against defenses that played much more loosely against Saints than they ever will against us? Lots of reasons to not be pleased with this transfer.

None were penalties! :soldadowatch: So thats worth LOADS MORE!!!! WE HAVE OUR MAN!

actually when you think about it with lamela fit if we sign jay it would balance the front three behind the striker we would finally have a natural leftsided player and lamela and jay will join the striker in the box something all of our other midfielder have failed to do and he has goals in him.
