he shits all over bentancur in all aspects of the game. hes not the tidiest looking player on the ball, but hes good enough. winning the ball, hes one of the best ive seen. you put good footballers around him who can take the ball and do the technical side, you have to balance it out.

IMO the least of our concerns in the midfield. I think if you filled the rest with competent players who can retain and run a midfield, he'd be the perfect player to sit in front of the defence.

If we could swap him for Bentancur, I’d do it in a heartbeat. But he might cost 30M and we have sooo many problems in our squad that we can’t spend that kind of money on him.

He's a vastly better CM than Bentancur. It's unfortunate but there are a lot of posters on this board who can't seem to figure which players of ours are actually decent. Frank has that problem too.
The only real trouble with him is that hes a specialist at the deep central CDM position. He can also stand in at CB. That's about it. He's not a double pivot CM. He's absolutely not an 8.
I think he’s up there with Wanyama, Sarge, and Sandro. All players that I loved and who were instrumental in their respective sides. Play him as a true DM, he’s quality. Wicked goal today as well.
He should be the first midfield name down. He just needs a “do-er” alongside him.
Thats it for me, if he were our player i'd keep him around and sell Bissouma and Bentancur (i'd sell them anyway) and bring in a passer. Even if you just played him in the bigger away games. But paying £25m for a 31 yr old when our entire squad is a mess, not so much for me. But this season isnt on him, he's comfortably been our best midfielder and doesnt seem to have been dragged down by our lackadaisical clique.
