Management Johan Lange - Technical Director

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Lange looking to expand the back office. Think it’s good we are trying to build a deeper back end with 5 new roles.

Annoying Arse are looking at AI for tactics. Liverpool already doing this. AI will be as normal for tactics and recruitment in 5-10 years as diets became in the late 90’s and early 00’s. We need to get on that as well don’t be at the back.

AI just reduces man hours. It won’t make their analysis “better”, it might just give them more data because they don’t need people to clean the data and process it.

AI is potentially a lot more than that. I believe Liverpool are partnering with deep mind AI, so it will run vast amounts of games and look at tactics, how to make small adjustments to get better results. It could be as simple as telling Konate to defend 1 yard deeper at corners but if it saves 2 goals a season it adds up.

I remember back in the 90’s when people laughed at diets, thought it was for weaklings but elite sport is all about marginal gains adding up. AI in tactics, recruitment is big for marginal gains and for those teams that adopt early.

Yes but until we are talking AGI all we are talking about is the AI meaning less humans are needed to do more. So you are right it could run larger data sets but the models would still need human prompts. It would still be as good as the humans promoting it.

The other thing to consider would be if the LLMs were proprietary or not. If not and dippers/goons are using an external company then chances are they are just paying to train the model so that other clubs could benefit from it later,

If Spurs do it, I hope they just hire their own Ai team and build proprietary models just for us.

Liverpool getting Google deep mind was annoying. They are the ones who beat what considered crazy hard in the game GO which it was thought computers wouldn’t be able to beat experts for years or decades, they also did the protein folding which again was thought to be years off and a huge win for new medicines.

Basically these guys deliver although I think any benefits will still take a few years I would guess.

He sounds bored but he speaks well, definitely more convincing than Paratici IMO. I think he will speak even better when doing his day job instead of in front the camera. He gives me a no nonsense approach and knew very clearly what he wants. I'm quite impressed TBH.

Just found myself irritated by his interview if I'm honest, I also don't believe him fully either.
I could be completely wrong, but I don't believe that solanke and odobert were our priority signings since the start of the window..I just can't believe that, if I do then it's clear we will never show any ambition.
Levy is a snake and a liar, I don't trust him, he's clearly done nothing to make any of us trust him.
But despite all the years of lies and a serious lack of any ambition, I still hold hope that one day the penny drops...I know it never will, but if there's no hope then we may as well give up..and as frustrated as I am with this owner and club in general, I would give almost anything to see us truly compete and maintain that standard, thus giving us all a club to be truly proud of and to unite us all with a shared excitement and unity...
It won't happen though........

Think the next big move will be (for us at home) will be coaches in Sky bar looking down on to the pitch with direct contact to the players

Adam Brett has been appointed Director of Performance Services for Tottenham and will oversee their sports science, medical, nutrition and psychology provision across men’s, women’s and Academy.

Brett worked for Brighton for more than a decade before exiting as Head of Performance and Medicine in August 2023. He had joined the Seagulls in February 2014 as Head Physio and was promoted to head up a unified medical and performance department in July 2020, replacing Tom Barnden.

At Tottenham, he replaces Geoff Scott, who stepped down as Head of Medicine and Sports Science last month after 20 years with the club.

Reporting into Brett will be new Head of Sports Science Nick Davies, who left West Ham at the end of last season. The Welshman is hugely experienced, having also worked for Charlton, Birmingham City, Norwich City and West Brom.

He had also been Head of Performance for the Wales men’s national team since March 2023, but has now left that position to focus on his role at Tottenham.

From time to time spurs supporters have questioned Spurs medical staff over player recovery times etc : perhaps we will see changes in player recovery times etc !
