Or were you sitting there thinking “damm we are so lucky”? Regardless anyway we got to the CL final under Poch however time to move on. Where are now is further back than last season with a bigger and better squad but no there is no progression.

Just numbers there is actually no intelligence to our defending. Often you’ll see opposition players completely unmarked in our area and players are allowed to pick out passes without any pressure.
Let’s remember Kane was out for 3/4s of the citeh tie and Ajax games. Then compare that to how we were completely outplayed by RBL last in both games with supposedly a 2nd to none coaching team! We were woeful even worse than any of the games in 2019 CL run. All v a young upstart manager yet the special one couldn’t conjure any kind of meaningful tactic against them!

The issue for me is the performances have been there in some games this season. Funny enough, even in some games we lost (Everton, WH, etc, we really battered them). The problem is the complete swings from super attacking to a scared as fuck unit that is so baffling.
I don’t buy the, pick new tactics per opponent anymore. Nah, now play the exact same way that saw us demolish 5 teams in a row. Go into the derby with that. If we lose (no fucking way we would’ve lost to that shower had we had some bite to our play!) then at least it won’t feel as gutting as it did.

No one said we didnt enjoy it. But now we dont have to lie to ourselves about how bad we were in those last 11 months of Poch other than those few moments. Also this squad is nothing in comparison with one that included Jan, Rose, Walker, Dembele, Eriksen etc.
I agree with all of that. I remember one game against them at WHL - the one where Gazza scored with his sock, as he had lost his boot. We lost that one, but we put up a fight and I didn't feel downhearted as I should have been, because of that. It's the games that we give up on before a ball is kicked that gets my goat, or the ones where we got an early goal and then we stop playing; we should be going for the jugular.

You know, in the following season (2017-18) Jose got 2nd in the Premier League - ahead of Poch's Spurs, Klopp's Liverpool and Conte's Chelsea - and got to an FA Cup Final (beating Spurs on the way). Surely we should consider those results when looking at the evolution of his work there? You can't blame it all on luck. Not everything that worked at his time at United was down to luck - not to mention the other 20+ titles in his career.
You can say he was lucky in his first season there, I'd agree with it. But Poch could have been lucky too - he lost to powerful Gent before it happened. It's a cliché, but it's true: you make you own luck. Poch's Spurs lost to Gent in the exact same season Jose won the Europa League with United. The competition had the same "easy" teams Jose beat. And Spurs had a much better team than United.
Yet, it was just another trophyless season for Spurs, while, lucky or not, the fact is that Jose won two titles at United - with Fellaini, Blind, Smalling, Darmian and Valencia all in the first team. We shouldn't underestimate it; if titles were simply a matter of luck, Spurs wouldn't be without one - League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League or Europa League title - for more than 13 years.

24 cups? 8 FA cups, 4 League cups, 2 UEFA Cups, 1 Cup Winners Cup. 2 Titles, that’s 17 major trophies. Not bad, but not 24.
You'd best correct this page then. Perhaps you can take League Cups of the Major Honours list whilst you're at it if it helps prove your point that we aren't a cup side.

The defence is shambolic which is meant to be his strength. But what worries me is that there is absolutely no discernible style to our play when we do have the ball, unless you consider playing crap ,, hoofing it and hoping for the best a style, interspersed with hopefully someone can do something magic to save the day
