Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What philosophy and spending habits changed???? Pure hogwash

The majority of players signed were young/youngish and had resale value ( Bergwijn, Lo Celso, Reguilon, Hojberg, Rodon)

Doherty was 28 but he signed for a relatively lowish fee despite the overcooked market

Hart was free, Bale and Vinnie on loan

The biggest issue is how many of those players Mourinho actually wanted. I think it's classic Levy sticking his oar in and bringing in players who he and his dumbfuck scouts think are best for the club.

We are rubbish recruiters and have been for years, way before Mourinho came.

No you dummy. Just because I dont need him sacked right away doesnt mean he is my hero.
So you piss on our previous manager, but are fawning over the other because he got us to the final of the "Fuck cares cup".

You can see my confusion. Poch did the same by the way.

It will be very very very very interesting to see who he picks against Villa - especially the bench, particularly given Hugo's comments.

I would be overjoyed if he shows his anger and contempt for the players that dont give a shit by not even giving them a bench spot. I dont like the football he plays, but I would respect that.

Try the kids

He is repeating what Jose said about life basics etc- who exactly is loris calling out then? 100% aurier but anyone else ? The effort was there just not the quality
Lloris cannot talk he is culpable as much as the rest. When do you seem him encouraging the lads or tell them to fucking step up. Plus his shot kicks which he think is passing. He lost respect when he called out son last season yet the same thing happens a multiple time’s in every game.? I mean sissoko has his own chapter. Does Lloris call anyone else out. It was bollocks him having a go at son.

You can't bash your players constantly, even though they are guilty too, and expect them to believe in you.

Take responsibility once you cunt.

He's done with serious club football.
True every time he comes out with some BS. This time it’s the attitude and basic life skills. He never says oh I might have got it wrong or blame me I picked the team and set them out to play like turds and I didn’t coach them to beat a high press. Does he even mention what they do in training and compare with how games pan out?

I can't see him being sacked before the end of the season. No fans in the stadium, less compensation to pay, and gives Levy the summer to bring in a new manager.

Yeah we could bring in a caretaker but I doubt Levy sees much point.

It's going to be grim until then.

Can you just imagine how awkward the training sessions will be? The social media team will have their work cut out looking for “smiley” photos and vids :mourcheeks:

I've just seen his press conference, the man looks genuinely soul-destroyed and close to tears. I obviously partly blame his archaic tactics as they have a lot to do with our predicament, but a lot of the blame has to go to the players that have been weak minded and bottling under pressure year after year. I felt we needed major changes to squad after the CL final, the dressing room is crying out for a change of character.

There are two benefits I can see from sacking him now versus the end of the season. One i think important, one more cosmetic but still has value.

A. It wins some support/trust from the fans. There is a lot of sentiment to move on from him. yes you shouldn't let the fans run things or you will find yourself sitting next to them, or whatever that saying is, but there is some benefit from giving your fans a lifeline. Jose was never the most popular guy based on his history and now even less with what he has brought. Sacking him now would bring some positivity back to the club supporters. This is very cosmetic and not the reason to sack someone but if it is going to happen anyway something to consider.

B. The more important reason for me is to bring someone in that can restore a little but if enjoyment to the players/team. It looks and sounds like many guys aren't enjoying going out each week playing for the club. And while we can blame them for their shit attitudes, I think bringing back some fun could go a long way to changing those feelings.

I think there is a risk that even for the non-moaners, football at Spurs could be turning toxic and we may lose them because of the atmosphere more than just their own feelings.

Yes it may not result in better results, although I think top 4 and League Cup are unlikely with Jose anyways, but if we brought in someone with the goal of making the last part of the season fun, for the supporters and the players I could see a lot of benefit for us going forward.
I completely get what you're saying - and in a normal season with crowds I think we all suspect that Mourinho may have gotten the chop already (because hoo boy the booing would be overwhelming already) but to Levy especially what the fans say is just noise. He knows there's zero real difference between our screaming on social media for José's head between now and June. In fact he knows we'll all end up mellowing out once the final game of the season has been played and especially with a lot of us turning our attention to the Euros as a distraction.

If it were up to me I'd be bringing in 'Arry to make the last few games of the season fun, but that's rather circus-y for a club of our apparent stature.
