Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Yes and Ndombele and Lo Celso where basically injured/unfit and that 100m was not net, we sold players to get funds.

Jose got Regulion, PEH, Rodon, Doherty, Vinnie, Bale, Hart on top plus finally a fit Ndombele .

We didn’t sell that many in summer 2019 when £150m or thereabouts was spent on new players. Trippier to Atletico Madrid for about £20 million and Wanyama (who’s barely played in previous 2 years) out as well.

Pochettino never seemed to sign many players who were ready to hit the ground running. Took forever for him to get new players integrated. Would have been nice to have had a Bruno Fernandes hitting the ground running Day 1.

Although WH escaped relegation last season and Moyes survived? Perhaps the same will happen if we stick with Jose?

I don’t personally think we should, my mind’s still not (quite) made up, but we can’t use the example of Moyes / Potter / Negelsmann / Hassenhutl etc without the full picture. Probably Rodgers has been the most consistent in and around where we are as a club - the rest are a punt; likewise, Moyes has generally been quietly adequate but nothing to write home about: WH’s form has surprised everyone (as has ours, sadly).
What full picture? I'm actually glad you mentioned Moyes escaping relegation because if you think about it it makes Mourinho's failure even worse. They were hired roughly around the same time in 18 months Moyes has taken a team from a much lower base to way above the level of their squad.

He has done this with Stuart Pearce on the traing ground with a few sound well scouted buys and hard work. Jose brought Doherty and had a plan for success that revolved around Ben Davis. If you still can't tell he is underperformed well I do not know what to say. And our form has not supprised quite a few people on this forum. We are actually devolving faster than a few of us anticipated. We are a classic late Mourinho side with disgruntled players briefing from within, talented players sounding out moves away, players hung out in the press and long standing players subject to smears and out right lies.

He ain't turning anything round trust me it's a mess.

No. I didn't want him in. This opinion was formed on how his teams played and what he had recently been doing at Chavs and Utd. I gave these reasons in significant detail over a number of posts.

He has done nothing to change my mind, so my opinion is the same today as it was nearly two years ago (as it was consistent throughout his time). Had he got us playing nice football, or at the minimum shown some green shoots of something emerging as signs of progress I'd have been onboard. Had he got us competing at the top of the league and in Europe then I'd have been on board, this is all I want from my Tottenham manager. (To be specific all I want is a manager that plays decent progressive and relevant football, I'm of the opinion that if this is nailed you're not far off from winning trophies which is the reward, not the expectation).

I don't rely on blind faith to form my opinions, I apply judgement.
How did you feel when we were top?

So we were top of the PL and fucking shit!

Righto
There were plenty posting tentatively at the time about us being top. Obviously I was happy we were doing well and wanted it to continue, but the three consecutive wins vs Brighton, Burnley and WBA were fairly poor performances and it wasn't sustainable to play like that and expect to keep winning.

Yes but that backing was far too late. The squad needed a refresh, Lo Celso and Ndombele should have come in the season before they did. We paid for not signing anyone of note for 18 whole months.

Most fans were more than happy for the last window, we need Full backs, DM, Striker and we even got Bale on top. Only thing we didn’t get was a top CB and got a young Rodon instead. That’s more backing than I have seen a manager get at this club.
Financially it was less backing than Poch got over a single window as I pointed out.

You can argue it was too little to late but it coincided with the move to the new stadium freeing up more funds.

We will never know but I'm sure any manager who comes in now will see more transfer dealings, Poch just got unlucky with timing.

I know mate. Its really as simple as the ends not justify the means. It was not pretty. We were cack but winning, rember moaning after the first Woolwich game about how we played second half. It really felt like being the kid in the emperors new clothes.
Whilst I hate watching us sit in as we do, I thought in the context of not letting our opponents play then I thought we achieved just that against Woolich. I thought we were shit against Southampton despite the score. Fluked it against City. Shit against Brighton, WBA. Completly bottled it against Chavs a genuine cowards performance, Shit against Palace. We were terrible.

Watch that second half again. It just that Arteta had been lobotomised and mistook Aubameyang for prime Joe Jordan. They hurt us second half time and again only Woolwich were pathetic. Even then it did not work as well as made out. And all our players were clearly drinking the cool
Aid and thought the unsustainable finishing and single digit possession would get them a title.

Got some jose buttlickers in here like levy. Any sane Tottenham fan would want him out. To make me hate watching us play takes something special. 15 m a year doing fuck all to improve us, we have gone from a team that could give a game to anyone to one where we may aswell watch paint dry
