Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We will hope for redemption agains Wolves, but I bet we will play this same shite tactics and the same shite football. Mourinho is the most predictable manager in the league, and the prediction is boring football.
Dunno - playing with the low block came as a reaction to losing a 3 goal lead against the Spam - perhaps we’ll get a further reaction to playing too passively?

Taking off Ndombele was the most amateurish bits of management I've seen in some time.

He needed to drop back into midfield so we could garner control, not be subbed off for a guy that can't run against one of the best running sides in the league.

Immediately punished for it as well.

Ndombele wasn't good today but the issue was in who replaced him more than anything else imo.

"The penalty is not a penalty created. It is a penalty that we commit. It's not something that was created, that comes in a sequence of something great, and for me comes out of context as at the time was our best period of the half.

"We started bad. The first 20 minutes was a poor performance. Some empty spots in space, pressing, attitude and I didn't like at all.

"Then we change and adapted and had a period of domination and chances. Then the penalty which was out of context."

Mourinho on the second half

"They didn't trouble us either. They scored through Toby's own goal and I don't remember anything else. I remember Schmeichel making an incredible save. Yes, we didn't create 15 chances and they defended well."

"But that we didn't start well isn't because I told them not to start well. We did start bad though yeah."

Mourinho on Aurier's penalty

"Is it a problem? Let's focus on today. It was a mistake but it was mistake in minute 45 or 46. Then we had players making mistakes in other areas. I can't blame players for making a mistake."

All the same excuses, spin and BS every time. It was tiresome the first time we heard him try to explain this BS, its just as tiresome now.

I may have said this before. But we probably should have backed Pocchetino instead of imposing our own transfer embargo for 2 transfer windows.

I think we'd be watching much better football and feeling much happier right now if we had.

Shitting on our most promising coach in a generation will haunt us for years.
We would have been relegated had Poch stayed.
Many of the team who got Poch the sack are still here and still poor.
Aurier,Sissoko Winks Ndombele and Lo Celso were all poor under Poch and all played a part today

And now we play like a Burnely side with Kane and Son upfront. Maybe shoud have hired Big Sam just to avoid relegation and then find a better manager. But Big Sam wouldn't be so nice in that Amazon show.

Levy will either back Mourinho and give him what he needs to create a team that can execute his system properly or he’ll sack him and replace him with a manager who plays a brand of attractive and exciting football.

There’s no way that fans are going to put up with watching boring, negative, shitty football week win, week out if it doesn’t result in wins and silverware.
I can tell you which one would be cheaper.

Ultimately when you play this sort of football and pin everything on results you open yourself up to huge criticism when you lose.

Defeats also feel slightly more soul destroying when you play passively and without intent.

This forum is full of “told you so” knobs so I’ll try to refrain from that. All I’ll say is that he’s been good in the big games, but the tactics don’t work outside of that. We have to impose ourselves on opponents more than we do and can’t rely on counter-attacks and opposition errors for all of our goals.

An an attacking entity we look entirely predictable.

Long season to go but really hope Jose can resist his dogmatic tendencies and alter his approach in those games. We have the talent.

Probably been mentioned many times before but it's obvious after today that this approach is not sustainable.

In the more difficult fixtures the low block / counter tactic is fine and to be fair has worked quite well this season.

But we look like a team who has no clue how to hold the ball and create chances that are not on the counter and teams have wised up to how we play. You have to be more positive in breaking down the lesser teams and taking the game to them, playing on the front foot.

All it takes is one mistake or a lucky goal and the gameplan is out the window as was demonstrated today.

No need for a low block against Palace and Leicester and similar teams - we have Kane, Son, Bale, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Alli etc
Ndombele and Lo Celso cost a lot of money and in the 18 months they have been here shown very little.
Sissoko is probably given his transfer fee and wages is probably the worst signing in our history and many of our fans think he is decent

That’s a fair comment. Lo Celso had something like miserable like 1 goal and 1 assist in the entire league campaign last season. We were front runners to sign Bruno Fernandes in the summer of last year but went for these two flops instead. Along with Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon.

He never has a plan b. It's the antithesis to poch where his team's attack and have no plan b mourinho is sit back and hope for a counter. Now teams have sussed out his tactics he doesn't have a backup plan. I honestly don't know if I can watch this drab football all season.

We wouldnt have been relegated but the reason we were so shit start of last season was Veronghen had gone performance wise, Danny Rose was stinking up the place, Eriksen didnt want to be here, Lo Celso was injured, Ndombele was unfit and most importantly the manager had lost interest after the champions league final and 3 years of piss weak backing. None of those are problems now. We have a deeper squad and no real excuses.

We’re in the top four in the league, quarter-finals of the first major tournament of the season knockout stages of Europe with a great chance to make it to the last 16+the F.A Cup has giving us a more than favourable draw to progress in that competition so what’s the problem..........?
