Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

I definitely don't think it's as simple as that, as I just said to you elsewhere, I just don't think Aurier is the biggest issue. He's pretty much doing what's being asked of him, just the same as Tripper was before him. There aren't a load of world class RB's out there that are brilliant going forward and brilliant defenders.

I was all for upgrading Trippier, I'm all for upgrading Aurier. I just think it would be a lot easier to upgrade people like Sissoko, Rose, Davies, Moura, Lamela etc.

Glad you added etc!!

So it’s both managers fault that they don’t care?

Aurier has many opportunities to put a decent cross in but didn’t
Simple as and I don’t give a fuck about statistics saying otherwise
He’s a fucking donkey

Blades seemed to find players from crosses so why couldn’t we and didn’t they score from them?
Our totally inept defence helped them of course and I’m talking about the lot of them

You can’t blame a manager for alleged PL defenders standing watching unmarked attackers and not closing them down!

You and bus-conductor bus-conductor seem to think that all we have to do is get rid of Sissoko and Jose and things will be rosy!

Don’t think so
The manager is responsible for how we play, no one else, win lose or draw. This includes how we defend and how we attack. IT'S HIS FUCKING JOB! We defended poorly as a collective, it wasn't an isolated individual error, it was the entire defence getting pulled out of shape, this is on the manager.

Only Doherty has more assists from crosses in open play this season, Aurier is literally one of the best crossers from open play, in the league, this is 100% fact! What is also a fact is that crossing is a low % opportunity, this means not many attempted actually result in goals. This concept really shouldn't be difficult to get your head around.

It becomes even harder when it becomes the only attacking phase you have, the oppo know how to stop it, where to position defenders, who to mark and where to stand. There is no other FB to keep an eye on at the back post (to stretch their defence) so they can be nice and compact, it means that Kane now has to beat two CB's and a 'keeper and Aurier needs to beat his oppo LB, Oppo left midfielder and deliver a ball to pick out Harry in a 3-1. The odds of pulling this off become even worse the more predictable it becomes and the lower the % of converting it.

I agree. It looks like there is no one to pass on our counters even if we are 4 and they 3.
Imagine what that counter would look like if players all knew where each other was running to, imagine what it would be like if you were the player breaking on the ball, knowing before you even kicked the ball that you've only got to decide if you are going to hit the runner to the back post or near post before you've even looked up.

Disagree mate

Once the players are on the pitch then it’s down to them imv

If alleged PL defenders can’t be bothered or are unable to perform the basics of covering and marking then the manager, any manager, is Just wasting his breath

I've always said he deserves a summer.

I still honestly don't see any difference between the Pochettino Spurs I've seen this season and the Mourinho Spurs.

Still playing a shitty 4231, still playing Aurier high up with space behind, still playing Sissoko in central midfield etc - almost as if Mourinho is sticking to what the players have known up until the summer where he'll then make the changes he needs, get players in, get rid of the ones that don't suit his new plan etc.

But we'll see.

Firm believer he is currently hamstrung by players here Poch was a system man the players we have all where for that system. Just the system stopped working since Dembele left and with Ndombele not filling his boots it's still not working. And the scouting recruitment has been dire for years. Berg seems a good sign but Gedson for me was just a panic we needed anyone signing and won't be staying.

And we have seen changes in how we play especially in defense but the boring shit attack won't change until he gets a proper set off fullbacks in. Aurier for all the assists is actually awful at crossing TAA is night and day better then him at it despite what stats say.

And until he gets a DM to cover Ndombele and Ndombele actually starts doing serious minutes it will be the same. Lo Celso is basically replaced Eriksen as the man who if the other team stops we stop.

Fullbacks X2

New CM/CDM

Backup striker

Has to the MINIMUM we get this window. We can get money from sales off players like Aurier, Toby, Moura, Rose (not sure when his deal ends). And hopefully some naming rights.

All the people who don’t want him, who do you want?

Bearing in mind Kane ain’t staying around for another project manager.
Took Poch 12 months but you could see signs in the first season, i'm not sure what a project manager is. Surely better to have everyone pushing towards a plan than just hoping things turn around despite all evidence to the contrary. Whoever our manager is i dont expect top 4 next season.

Right on fucking queue. This has just popped up on my TL.

This is a typical Spurs counter-attack, no one knows what they are supposed to be doing, we are the ones that are actually preventing the attack from coming off, Lucas here being thick as pig shit with his runs. But had we actually worked on having a trusted attack, with players knowing where to run this at the very least results in a shot on goal.

The manager is responsible for coaching what the players should be doing when without the ball (it's the only thing that I've credited Jose with since joining), it is evidenced by the fact that we conceded fewer shots on our goal, he has been working on this. This is what he's famed for.

It's not about being "bothered" I don't get why this is always trotted out in defeat. We were beaten by a better-organised team, a team that has been doing what they did to us all season.

We weren't organised in defence/midfield, which resulted in all of their goals. And going forward we didn't make it a difficult night for them on account of us not knowing what we were doing.

we have too many stupid players. Lucas, Aurier and sissoko. Get them all out this club. If any of them are still here next season then things won’t change.

What ever coach is in charge of these sub standard players will find it impossible to get the results we want. You can't coach poor players into becoming good enough to win silverwear.
When the re build begins and we sell who needs to be sold lets us all look at the buying team.
I will be amazed if any of them bar Kane go to a better club than Spurs.
We have assembled a shocking squad of players that don't give a fuck and have no desire

i would love Ten Hag or Nagelsmann, although I am not sure either guy would come here. Outside of that I am not sure about the guys in Italy, France or Spain enough to say who is a good, proven young-ish coach that could come in here and put together a cohesive, well thought out 5 year plan, but I see no reason why there isn't someone out there. I don't see any one in English football that fits what I am looking for.

i would hope that we don't keep Jose because "there's no one else" or because "Kane ain't staying around for another project manager". Those both seem like awful reasons to keep a manager.

You are blaming Jose for Moura being a dumbshit. That is the kind of stuff that he has been doing his whole career with all different managers.

When does it become a problem with player rather than all of his managers?

Ive a feeling Nagelsmann will be our next manager. Don’t know why, just a feeling.
