Manager Jose Mourinho

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

At least Jose is still Santa's favourite manager, he calls him Mourinho-ho-ho

That is unusual and rare for him. We had all 3 holding midfield players on. He could have replaced Holjberg to give him a rest. Both Dele and Moura are more likely to assist or score and 1 should have stayed on.
Uh. You know this is a cup game right? In the cup, the name of the game is not getting eliminated.

We might not get another goal with the sub, but preventing Stoke from continuing with their momentum in early part of the second half at that point is vital.

Stoke equalized, and they had found way to put pressure on our defense. We needed that extra security with Lucas offering fuck all going forward, and as useless as helping the defense from his position. Forcing opposition's mistake is not always just about throwing pointless attackers onto the pitch. Stifling opposition's momentum, cornering them to their limit in this case prove to do the trick.

Like most fans will happily tolerate Mourinho's style when we are winning. When we start to lose I will ask questions more quickly than normal. And I would expect silverware. As I've written many times he's been brought in to break the trophy duck, so I will be judging him in that context. Style of player still matters but not as much right now.

Are people seriously moaning about Sissoko coming on? He was good. He was involved. He contributed to the upturn in performance.

I think some fans brains were left in Amsterdam as Moura is about as good as a chocolate tea pot most of the time.

Sissoko broke things up when we came on. He's a strong presence and Stoke are quite a physical team still, they did not like playing him. Lamela added a lot with his energy and work rate, as ever. The rest of the team upped their games about 5% after he came on and we wrested back the initiative.

The way things have unfolded last week, it's only time before Jose joins the dark side of the force - that's when all shit breaks loose . Palpatine and Darth will look like choir boys.
