He's in the supposed line up for Argentinas first friendly - great moment for him.
It's a miracle considering his lack of actual game-time.
Glad they agree on his potential though.

I genuinely hope we start seeing more of him as the season progresses. It would be a shame if his patience doesn't come good as he seems like such a class act
Don't blame him. Sais it before I think he'd be a great defensive midfielder. Shocking he hasn't had more chances either there or as a CB
Let’s not forget that Foyth was injured until recently and had no pre-season, now Jan is injured he should expect to get some minutes in the league cup.
Poch always gives chances to players who deserve to play, to start matches Foyth has to train better than the other CBs. Talent is not enough. If he isn’t good enough or hungry enough to challenge his team mates then he should move on.
TBH I think he would have been loaned had he not injured his knee in the summer, Poch has changed his tune on loans in the last year and is now willing to send youngsters out to play in the lower leagues rather than keep them on the training pitch all season.
More technique than Dier and calm under pressure. Must be laughing at home when he thinks he can’t get into the side.
Yeah - I don't blame him either.
Odd that we didn't send him out on loan to get first team football, especially as Poch woudl rather play an average centre half in Dier over him.
We probably won't see Foyth until the West Ham game in the Carabao Cup and then whoever we have in the FA Cup in January (aslong as that's against a team in the Championship or lower) - deserves better for sure.
I refuse to believe that if Foyth trained better than Vertonghen, Sanchez and Alderweireld he'd be in the first team. Poch simply isn't going to drop Vertonghen if fit and Sanchez and Alderweireld have a lot more experience than Foyth.
The only way Foyth gets in this team (Whether he deserves it or not or trains better than everyone else) is if we suddenly change to a back three whilst Vertonghen is out and Dier is needed in central midfield or like you say, in the cups and against lower opposition.
Pochettino just seems to be at that level with us now that he's being careful with who he brings into the team and starts. This isn't like his first season or two where he would bring through the likes of Mason, Dele, Kane and play the likes of Bentaleb, Townsend etc. - he's got a lot harder job now where his squad is probably the best it's ever been, with targets bigger than he's ever had and he simply cannot afford to play inexperience in games that matter and that is probably a big reason why he relies on experience like Sissoko, Llorente etc. as opposed to bringing through youth like Edwards, Onomah etc.
We bought him to sell on at a higher price. That was the plan along.

It’s not about dropping people. Youngsters have to be patient and wait for a chance, well good news for Juan because Jan is crocked until December. If he can’t grab a start in a league cup game now then he never will. Perform well and perhaps he can challenge Davinson, who is also raw and having a dodgy spell.
