Ex-Spurs Player Juan Foyth

I have serious doubts regarding him making it here.

Right now there are Toby, Dier, Sanchez and even Tanganga ahead of him. Sure he could get few games in Europa league and cups, but... quite honestly I'd rather us to sign more established and stable CB (to prepare for Toby's departure that can't be too far looking at his age) and use funds from selling Foyth and CCV for part of the outlay.

I mean the guy has been with us for more than 3 years, during that time he has played 2240 minutes and overall he has 3050 minutes of senior football played ... at 22,5. I know CBs mature and develop with age but all things considered, I do not have too much faith in him.

If we sell him to lesser side in EPL we can include some kind of buy-back clause like big clubs do and IF he turns out to be a top class CB, then we can just buy him back for maybe like 30 mil when we sell him for 10-15 mil.

When he first came I was really stoked. I thought he actually had better qualities than Dier to play the backup DM role. He is pretty nice on the ball, but then his brain farts kept creeping in.

He has the tools to be good, but it's the mental side where he needs work. But that comes down to game time. We should have loaned him right when we got him..

He has outstanding technical skills, especially for a CB. He just needs to learn when not to take unnecessary risk. He seems like the type of CB that would do well at Barcelona. I am not sure why his agent would take him to England.

The English game is far too physical and rough for someone with great ball skills. Majestic players don’t do well in the EPL. Their skills are not valued here. A Pirlo wouldn’t have made it in the EPL, but he was pure class.

I kind of agree with most of what you are saying...
But never with this part. If players like VdV, Özil, Silva, Modric etc have been managed to shine in EPL and earn rave reviews than prime Pirlo with his passing range and creativity would have as well. And easily.

One thing is physicality but his awareness and quickness of the decisionmaking would have allowed to dictate the play and open up the defenses in EPL also. Sure, larger and more physical players (such as Wanyama in his prime) would have fouled him at times, but maestro literally would have received, controlled and played forward before such players could have made the block/interception/foul.

Off course Foyth wouldn't make it at Barcelona and of course Pirlo could have cut it in the EPl

He plays for the national team, is considered a first pick for his position and is highly regarded and you cannot see what he has offered?
 
Sublime or shit 50/50 merchant like the rest of the squad really.
Worth another year with us or sell. No loans.

Just decide on his games here next season if we want him or not and let him get on with his career.
So tired of dragging players along for no reason.
Poch should have just sold KWP when he decided Aurier was better.
 
I appreciate Foyth wants to fight for his spot and I think he has potential but he needs playing time and he hasn't gotten it at Spurs - either loan him or just sell him. If Leeds is offering around £15m I'm sure that Levy and Mourinho will make it clear that it would be a good move for his career.
 
He's 22yrs old!! Just a handful of months older than Tanganga, has 10 more appearances than Tanganga and is a full international for Argentina! He's had to sit behind/compete with one of the best CB partnerships in Europe since he arrived. The way some of you go on is utterly mindboggling, there is absolutely loads of time for him, most CB's don't hold down a spot until around 25'ish.

Had he gone out on loan it's unlikely that he would have formed any relationship with Toby, Sanchez and now Tanganga. I'd say that's fundamental for Sanchez, Tanganga and him if any of them are going to take an opportunity especially as we are now in EL it's more than likely those chances will present themselves in the consolation European comp. I have much more confidence in any of these three playing well on account of knowing their games than one or all having never even played with each as they were loaned out.

Yeah - I'd honestly keep him for the Europa League alone.

It's a slog in the early rounds and it gives game time and potential confidence to the likes of Foyth, Tanganga, Sessegnon etc. who could all do with the minutes.
 
He's another youngster that's been hampered by injuries and a lack of match time. He's still only 22 so in theory isn't at his peak yet, but he's not going to improve if he's not playing.
I really like the lad, but he needs to get mentally stronger and iron out the mistakes. That will only happen with game time, but it's a catch 22 as giving him game time runs the risk of his errors costing us.
We need a full and strong squad this season so I'd rather we kept him than signed someone else like Kim Min-Jae.

Could have said something similar about Cameron-Carter-Vickers a couple of years ago - USA CB at aged 19 or 20.

Now aged 22, so similar age to Foyth, but having been out on loan for several seasons has now amassed about 90 matches in the Championship, and probably reponsible in his last loan for keeping Luton in the Championship. So youth with pretty good experience

Big guy, excellent defender and good at passing it out from the back. CB and has played both RB and LB - may go to the Championship in search of regular football but he's quite likely to return to PL.

Think I'd prefer CCV in place of Foyth next season, as he has the experience we need plus being HG, unlike Foyth who would take up one of the 17 overseas trained footballer places we have.

From what I've seen of CCV at professional level, he's an awful passer and I thought was one of the reason Pochettino eventually got rid of him from the squad despite being quite high on him at the start.

I'm glad he is succeeding in the Championship though.
