He's good at defensive headers, that does not mean he was defensively good against Brentford. So is he good or shit at defensive play? Make your mind up

Someone told me after the game on here that Hoijberg had more touches than any other player and therefore he was good and better than anyone else on the pitch.Mate people dont want to hear it about Hojbjerg, it's about as popular as Kurt Zuma. There is a Two and a bit year corollary between our lack of control in midfield and poor retention and breaking down oponents...its not all on Harry Winks.
No player scores in every game.So basically this thread should be renamed 'Kane, Son and Own Goals'.. and we should also be blaming Own Goals for his no show the past 2 games : )
They've had the ball at times and done absolutely nothing with it. Kane can't trap a bag of cement right now and son just 1 touch passes all the time. I'll give you at times the service is lacking but on the ball They've been utterly ineffective.
It's daft to blame them when they hardly ever got the ball in dangerous areas in the last two games. As a team we have failed to react to opponents who sit deep and suffocate the space. We move the ball slowly, we don't play risky passes, we don't commit extra players to attack, etc. This is where other players have to step up.
If Kane, Deki and Son are being smothered by the opponent then someone else needs to do something. Kane often had 3 players on him yesterday but did a team-mate take advantage of that and take responsibility himself? No. As a team we defer to them even when they are not in the game, which is not right. We need to demand goals and assists from more than just those three players. Sometimes you need to nick a goal from a corner, a direct free kick, a long shot, a cheap penalty, something different. That's what I see Liverpool, City and Chelsea do.
The reality is that as on overall team we have major gaps in our ability to score. We can score on the counter-attack and that's pretty much it. If the opponent sits deep and doesn't make a mistake we cannot score. We've seen it against Burnley, Brentford and Brighton. We saw it against Watford to except that time Davinson scored in the last second from a corner. We don't have enough moments like that.
Oh wow he cleared the line once in a set piece scramble. Defender of the year material. Where was he rest of the game?Kane literally cleared a shot off the line yesterday you melter.
And he always defends corners well for us too.

You don't need to point out his defensive headers to me, I've brought that up countless times myself.
How many of those goal involvements have come in critical/pressurized games or moments when there’s a lot on the line?Check the agrees.
Yep, same motley crew.
63 goal involvements for Son and Kane this season.
All time EPL best combo.
How do you know he 'made him'...? Maybe their #9 is like, y'know, their Striker? That is Son on the bottom left corner during the Asian Games. He turns his back and covers his eyes while making his teammate take the penalty to win them the match. This is who he is.
I'm American and now that I've seen this thread title I've got the theme song from Sanford and Son stuck in my mind. I think that was a remake of an English series (Steptoe and Son?).How do you know he 'made him'...? Maybe their #9 is like, y'know, their Striker?
How do we not know he didn't snatch the ball off Sonny to get the glory all for himself...? Greedy bastard!
...anyway, only cane on here to say the title of this thread sounds more like a family run firm of Solicitors!
...or a Funeral Parlour!!
I actually agree with you here. I think I have a nose bleed comingI think it's the lack of creativity in the midfield we should be digging out, not the forwards. Our midfield is shite,
