Walker's little thank you is nice, but I am not that disappointed to see him go. Whether or not the falling out rumours are true, the fact is that a player of his quality does not leave for no reason. So if he acted up that's something we don't need. If he was just interested in more money than title chances and it was impacting his play, that's also something we don't want. He had three years to work with Poch and get on board with his way of thinking. If it wasn't for him in one way or another it is probably better he's with the wage whores in Manchester.

My only concern is if, and I emphasise the "if", he left because he had a falling out and Poch booted him away from the club accordingly I am worried that sets a precedent for any top player that fancies a major wage increase to act up in search of a move.

Funny thing is I think Pep's style is actually the opposite of what Kyle is good at - he won't do well at tucking inside and joining play in tight areas. He won't be a smart distributor of quick play from the back to the front.

He will be a pace merchant unit who doesn't get beaten one on one - which is why he is excellent. But I think that is by far his biggest strength and he isn't what I would call a quality 'footballer'. He is replaceable in that we can always find somebody with similar physical attributes but better footballing ability.

I don't think we should stick with Trippier long-term because I think he is not quite up to it defensively - but I am happy for him to be rotated with another for the season as he does have some real quality in his delivery. Something which Kyle never really had.

Anyone expecting more than this are fucking mental. He does mean it I think, him going is just one of those things but he has served us well and leaves on good terms with the fans. Most at least, I know some won't be happy unless they get blood but whatever.
Indeed. He's put up a run of posts on Instagram celebrating his time at Spurs, I don't doubt for a second that he has love for the club and that this is an emotional departure for him. I'm absolutely gutted to see him go but hope that our fans will show him respect in the future (presuming he continues to show it to us). I'm not down with all these people on social media calling him a snake and all that shit. He's actually handled this with class IMO. Just sad that he's just made City a much better team!
